Description
I was going to make people guess who this is, but the presence of the Phantom Cruiser in the background kind of gives it away. If you're wondering what those lines on her face are, I thought it would be fun to show off the tribal markings she and her brother sported in the very cool mini series that DC comics put out a few years ago.Related content

Fabulous job! Her face and hair are perfect, and what a figure! Very well done! I hope you do more Hanna-Barbera girls.

I guess it all depends on how old one is and what era of cartoons one watched during childhood. lol I take that back since my husband and son still watch cartoons when they think I am not around or aware of them doing so. lol ahhh Boys will be boys at any age it seems.
Jan is one of my favorite characters and I really luv this drawing of her, Dave. I wonder if the show was done now if there would be a bit more.....'action' on Jan's part with......whomever. Come to think of it I don't recall exactly what the relationship was between Space Ghost & his two teenage helpers. Wards perhaps?
Here's one 4 you, Dave.....remember Colonel Bleep? One of my little brother's favorite, that and Planet Patrol.

Somehow I've gone my entire life without ever having heard of Colonel Bleep. I looked it up just now, though, and I'll say that it does look kinda cool- it was just before my time. But then, so was Space Ghost, but I guess the difference between the two is that, like a lot of cartoons, I was able to watch Space Ghost in reruns. Even though I hadn't heard of Colonel Bleep until now, it's still sad to know that nearly half the episodes have apparently been lost.
I'm certain they never explained anything about Space Ghost's origin in the cartoons or from whence his teenage sidekicks came, but according to the comic book I read, he essentially adopted the two after their parents were killed by Zorak.

Oh my word....I never knew that although anything written, such as a book or in this case comic, tends to be far more detailed than the 'movie' version. Anything on screen can be cut down so after a few years the viewing is far less than originally shown.
Thank you for that info on SG & his 2 wards/step children/etc. It explains a lot now that there are several newer versions of them, especially on dA. Still, I luv your artwork of Jan, hon.

Nostalgia! Where's Jayce? (Jace?) And wasn't the monkey named Blip?

Yeah, Blip was the monkey's name. I'm not sure if it's Jace of Jayce, though. It's normally spelled Jace, but in the comic book, it was Jayce. Anyway, I may try drawing the other characters later.

I wasn't aware that there was a comic book, though I did see Space Ghost on Cartoon Network growing up. There was also another show about a family that lived in some sci-fi forest with these strange creatures that had unique powers, like a rock-ape, a rhino-like animal that could shoot energized rocks out of a horn in its face, and a couple of jelly-like creatures. Maybe you've seen it too?

The Herculoids. I've gleaned that after Space Ghost, that there was talk of giving them a serious comic book treatment as well, but I guess nothing ever came of it.

Ah, that's too bad. A comic would have been pretty cool. Thanks for reminding me of its name!

I`m not a comics guy, so the reference is lost on me - but I think its a terrific piece regardless!

She's one of Space Ghost's sidekicks. Since none of the characters are seen without a mask in the cartoons, so I figured it might throw people off, unless they happened to have read the comic book origin story.
