Not the most original idea I've had. Whenever I get an idea to do something like this, I do a search to see if anyone's already done it. And someone had:

In spite of all that, I decided to draw this anyway. Actually, if I'd followed through with my original idea, it would have been somewhat more unique and creative. I had a dream that Ross gained dinosaur superpowers, and when I awoke, I tried thinking up other superpowers that would match each character's personality or interests. Monica would be super OCD, Joey would have some sort of super sandwich eating ability.... Then I was going to fashion original costumes for each of them. But that got to sound like too much effort, so I went the more derivative route instead.

~LaughingMan008 told me I should have drawn Ross as Aquaman (Schwimmer, swimmer, get it?), but Ross got to be Batman primarily through the virtue of having the face that seems to remain most recognizable when the upper portion is obscured.

I might have rethought this slightly if I'd known Joey had already dressed as Superman for a Christmas episode, but I've never seen that one because the holiday episodes are not in the normal syndication rotation for some stupid reason. Apparently, some genius thinks it would be confusing for audiences to see a Thanksgiving show in February or whatever.
