Description This is my first serious attempt at painting in a couple years, which I've totally cheapened by inserting a drawing of a cute girl into the scene. But let's be honest- you wouldn't even be looking at this if there weren't a cute girl in it, would you?
Actually, it's not really such a good painting anyway.

I'd like to crawl beside her in that inner tube.

This is pretty good. She looks cute, and that is a very beautiful background.

I dunno if its Cheapened because the girls in the picture- it just looks like a more well put together piece then usual! which isn't a bad thing.

Thanks, yeah, now I'm thinking I may have to use a painting for my backgrounds more often.

The background makes the cartoon girl more interesting and appealling (but the same result could be had by doing it over a photo). The background pic by itself does lack a focal point, but is quite nicely done.

Painting looks great! It makes for a very interseting background of a far away place no man has ever been...

Thanks. As a matter of fact, it's not all that far away for me; the background is based on an actual spot near where I live in Wisconsin. It probably came out a tad more lush and verdant in the painted form than it looks in real life, though.

is the painting traditional or digital? either way, killer depth of field and space in there, REALLY well done. Great colour pallet too, I'd kinda like to see more like this.

Thanks. It was done traditionally with acrylic paint on canvas board. I smoothed out a little of the roughness of the canvas in Photoshop with the "smart blur" filter.

I don't really care about views; I honestly just thought the painting was kind of boring by itself.

Not to take away from the fact that the painting is very good, but why dont you post 2 versions or something? If you want more consideration for the paint as opposed to the girl...

It is good though, the painting part i mean
