created as a request for ~Waffle-Houdini for being one of the winners in the #Art-School-Students personal improvement meme contesta fractal manipulation version of Icarus falling cause he got too close to the sun

fractal manipulation created using fractals rendered in apophysis and edited together using photoshop
most the fractal shapes used in this are from random batches and the evidence of them can be seen in some of my older works the wing shapes can be found in my fractal stock folder.
broke my usual trend of light on dark again for this one as Icarus flew to close to the sun figured a pale background with a lens flare effect for the sun.
kept some of the edges rough a little cause when soemthing is silhouetted against a bright light source the edges do become a tad indistinct
probably should have used a ref. pic or something but i find i work better straight from my head

Ok, so I found this picture on Google images and used it as the sort of cover image for a poem without checking where it was from. Now that I've found it here and you've clearly stated you don't want it used, I will take it off my poem.

This-is-amazing. Seriously. I can't stand Icarus anymore after spending half a year studying the myth of Dedalus and Icarus in college, but still. It's awesome. Those feathers look so great, and I like the shadow-on-light.

i just had to play with it and see what happened it was an interesting request, i added the WIP because else i think this would have been moved for being in the wrong category or something cause at a glance you can't tell its fractal based

was more luck than anything on perspective as i work mainly from results generated from random batches in apophysis so i mainly just work with the fractals that i more or less generate by chance ( occasionally there is some dabbling with the mutation or tweaking the triangles as it were but usually jsut random suits me fine

It has been a lot of fun to see you grow as an artist. When you first started to post your work I think you confused a lot of the fractal people here, and I am glad to see you have carved a niche out for yourself.

lol i think i am still confusing some of them to be fair - i was just one of those deviants elated when the fractal sub-categories was introduced - i think i still confuse and i still get a lot of people comment 'should this be in fractal?'
i'm just trying to encourage a few other people to try out the same sort of style i work ( and prove its not as hard as it looks at times
but i certainly shall continue to carve at my little niche and maybe coax a few more people into it so i don't get too lonely
