Description
fractal manipulation created using fractals rendered in apophysis and pieced together using photoshop with the addition of a non-fractal texture added in with the background fractal pattern and the text for the word 'ink' on the bottle .some of the pieces in this can be found in my stock folder - others have been up-cycled from older works

Stunning work! Love how innocent yet mischievous the black kitty looks with that adorable trail of incriminating pawprints.

that is the expression my cats used to have whenever they managed to knock a bottle of ink over when i was working I'm glad i managed to capture a degree of that with this fractal manip

You certainly did great to capture that experience. I'm amazed ink pots are still around what with everything being an app these days . I used to dream about having a writing desk when I was a kid with inkpots, fountain pens, leaves of loose parchment, etc. Shame I'm stuck in such a dump when I got older
Heck even Dostoevsky would say, "Blimey, and I thought my Crime and Punishment was dreary..." if he saw how I was living.

I Did have a little writing desk when i was a kid, my uncle found it in his barn and cleaned it up, at the moment i'm looking round junk shops and second hand shops etc in search of an old fashioned ceramic inkwell to fit in the gap in the desk for it - granted it is still child sized but is a cool little thing to have - i mostly keep my notebooks in it ( although i do have several quill pens etc as once upon a time a hobby of mine was calligraphy)
your present point in time is not your final destination - you may well end up with your desk yet

I did have a dresser like piece of furniture I had for a while as kid, which had a space I used for writing, but I've no idea what happened to it. Wasn't a proper desk though. I'd love to get into calligraphy, mainly because of my interest in Japanese. It'd be great to produce kanji characters instead of my crude pen renditions. I've a plethora of notebooks, even took a photo of all my notebooks laid out on my bed.
I completely agree. I've come to accept that so far for the next four years this will be the train I'm to journey on. I'm hoping my thirties will be better than my twenties.

I got into calligraphy as a way to improve my diabolical handwriting, alas the handwriting is still what can be summed up as scrawl, but when i concentrate and don't rush I manage a degree of penmanship.
every so often i condense my notebooks down - usually as i type up the notes - or file the sketches/ doodles with the finished digital versions.
My teens were horrid, my twenties were somewhat horrid, my thirties seem to be a little up and down - I'm just hoping for the latter half of my thirties to settle down and get me back on the right path opposed to feeling continually like i am flailing about in the dark

My handwriting frustrates me. Sometimes I'm quite happy, then I look over old notes and I'm aghast at how shit my handwriting is. I'd take a calligraphy evening class if I had time, but I have a degree course to get through starting September and an evening class learning German. Most times I have a lot to write down within a limited time frame, so I can't be fussy. Still I love calligraphic works, be it old fashioned Gothic style, Arabic, or the Asian styles. I had a period after I quit smoking, where I ended up buying notebooks whenever I thought about buying cigarettes.
By the way things are going life for me living won't feel worthwhile until I get near my mid-thirties. At present, it's a mere existence. Essentially it's a matter of waking up, getting on with the day, and trying not to shout at incompetent idiots. Least I can say I made progress from being homeless. A degree isn't bad, even if it's in a field I never thought I'd find myself in. Some might call it an existentialist crisis to be living a life all over the place. Then again I'm no Kierkegaard.

sometimes I look over old notes and can't actually read what i had put down
I'm just self taught with it - i showed an interest, brought a few books cheap and went with it.
good grief! how on earth do you find time to eat and sleep in with all that mix here was me thinking things were manic on my end of life
but degrees always look good on paper - although i confess most of what i learnt on mine I chose to ignore and teach myself a new skill set once i had graduated - granted with mixed results.
yesterday I believed there was a degree of foundation with my life- today I'm finding that same foundation missing.

Most things I'm interested in I've gone down the self-taught route. The most successful of that was doing the poetry thing.
Half the time I've no real idea myself how I manage. Some days it appears like I've done nothing and made no meaningful progress, then another day I'll be all over the place. I'm only doing this degree because I went onto the prior course because a now ex-friend, whom I was in a brief relationship with, indirectly suggested it. I was going to do something else, then I found that the field I'm in has a high percentage of getting a job at the end. So figured oh heck I'm on this road, let's keep walking until the end. It's a bit like trying to balance an array of spinning plates, while standing on a pair of scales with a ticking time bomb which requires you to stay near-balanced.

glad you like this cutie - there are two more in progress now using this sort of basic cat shape ( one in grey with some fish - and the white cat in the snow) - i know its a bit of a cheat sometimes but when i find something really useful or a way i've put the basic shapes together that is effective i love to re-use it often repeatedly

I started saving backgrounds and maps for my fractals. It's easier to use own stock then try to remember where the heck you got it from!
