Dave x Reader | The Only Exception |

"Thanks again Mr.Strider." You say placing your guitar in it's case.

"Not a problem (Name), would you like me to walk you home?" Mr.Strider, your music teacher and guitar teacher, asked.

"I'll be fine." You assured him slinging your backpack over one arm.

"I hope I don't sound a bit nosey, but is there anything going on between you and my lil man,(Name)?" Strider asked you.

You laughed at the thought, You and Dave have been friends sense you were little. "No, I'm afraid not Mr.Strider."

Truth be told you never believed in love. All your experiences ended in heart break and depression. And you only witnessed this, never falling in love.

Exiting the school you looked back and waved at him, smiling.

You walked down the dark streets. Looking around you saw it was abandon so you began singing to yourself.

"When I was younger I saw, my daddy cry, and curse at the wind."

"He broke his own heart and I watched as he tried to re-assemble it."

You smiled and sang louder.

"And my momma swore that she would, never let her self again."

You blinked back a few tears and chuckles to yourself, this song hit home. You were living with your sister at the moment while they sorted it out.

Suddenly you heard another voice and Turing around found yourself face to face with Dave Strider.

"You scared me half to death!" You said exasperated.

"Well I guess that was necessary, now we are even."

"What are you talking about." You said unamused.

"Well I've never heard you sing before. You're pretty good." Dave said.

Shaking your head you walked on. Dave walked next to you and started singing the next part. "And that was the day that I promised I would never sing of love, if it does not exist."

You closed your eyes and smiled. "But darling you, are, the only exception." You and Dave sang together.

Suddenly he took your hand in his own, looking over you saw him looking forward but a rosy hue was evident in his face.

Smiling you two kept singing.

Maybe...
