Description Sigh, this took way longer then it should have, meant as a companionpiece to Sonic boom 3ds in minutes.

Err, anyway, yay Freedom planet and stuff.
This video's less a satire parody and more just a general hyper version of the original story.
So more joke style like my first Sonic adventure 2 in minutes I guess.
Also, not sure how many minutes this is. Probably approaching 11 minutes. Too tired to go find out now.

Pretty cool game. Yet another Indy game that together with fan-games like sonic after sequel and such that makes me wonder why we want Sega/ Nintendo to keep making sidescrollers when small teams can do much better jobs at it then big companies do.

Youtube version might take a few days longer.
Need to mentally prepare for all the hilarious "it's not 10 minutes" and "Micheal Bay exists" jokes.

Got a link to any other dub you might have done before, in case she wants to see what she's in for?

The worst part: the motorcycle thing wasn't a parody... it was way to loyal to the actual game lol.

I haven't actually watches this movie yet (nor its 'review' brethren on youtube) -
but when this popped up, I remembered you mentioning this game during a Skype conversation;

Something about how it was like the early Sonic games.

Well, now I'm not really much a big fan of the early Sonic games, on account that I got into the Sonic franchise because of the gripping narrative (yeah.... uh. ) --- and the 2D-sidescrollers usually don't have much in terms of that.

So anyway, I went and checked out the trailer and then the first 2 minute opening cutscene. The fact the cutscenes are voiced, and how well-made it seems - and indeed also the fact that there are cutscenes at all - has my interest.

(Oh and the gameplay looks nice too, at a glance. Didn't really pay attention to that.)

So apologies, I probably won't be watching the video for quite some time, for the sake of avoiding spoilers in case I ever get around to playing the game myself... which will probably take a while.

Also, is this coming out for any consoles?

Also also, one thing I did notice from the trailer / opening cutscene; In the trailer, they kept talking about the kingdom stone. A lot.
"We must save the kingdom stone with THE KINGDOM-STONE from the king-dom stoooone, kingdoming the stone with the KINGDOM STONE, kingdomstone kingdom stone KINGDOM STONE!!!!"

Okay okay I get it, that's the magical McGuffin / Chaos Emeralds of this universe.

Then, in the opening, they said that "the kingdom stone is failing".

Ah. Standard clichΓ© story setup, magical McGuffin stops working after 10,0000 years or something.

"...because it can no longer support the energy requirements due to increased population growth."

Oh. That... actually makes a lot of sense.

Surprisingly much. Color me impressed for subverting my clichΓ© expectation right there!

Well, you can at least watch the gameplay video I suppose, there's no spoilers for the story at all, in fact not even for the gameplay as I mostly show footage of the early levels.

Yeah, this game might be up your alley.
The main characters are pretty My Little Pony esque.
Except instead of being in a child friendly story about friendship, here they're in a Star Wars like, Sonic Satam esque story on steroids with some intense moments.

And there's even optional ways to unlock "bloopers" where the 4 wall is constantly broken, so that might get your fancy (Altough even in the actual game the 4th wall is occasionaly played with, like cutscenes interupting victory poses and such)

As for the game being on consoles, there's a Wii u version coming later, that's it.

Watched it on youtube, my favourite part is where one of them pulls a motorcycle fully assembled from their mouth.

The holographic dragon seems to be as real as the plot needs it to be in any given situation, maybe it's the Emergency Draconic Holographic program with eighty five terraquads of memory and the entire joke library of Bob Hope.

If you have Steam I can buy a copy for you if you want.
Orr, there's a free demo to download anyway.

DCLeadboot In reply to Rogerregorroger [2015-05-04 18:10:45 +0000 UTC]

Ah cool!
Yup, I do have a Steam account myself - I first got that a number of years ago when I bought a CD of Sonic Generations and found that it worked by installing the Steam application on my system and retrieving a download code.
Since then, my Steam library has expanded to include games ranging from Tomb Raider 2013 to Castle of Illusion Remastered (starring Mickey Mouse) and LEGO LOTR and the Hobbit...
Oh yeah, and there was Dust: An Elysian Tail, another indie-game that I got on EUAN-THE-ECHIDHOG 's recommendation... as made by Dean Dodrill, the animator from Jazz Jackrabbit!

Rogerregorroger In reply to DCLeadboot [2015-05-04 20:32:20 +0000 UTC]

That Elysian tail game is done?
I toughti t was still in development.
Anyway, if I know your Steam email I can buy you freedom planet, send it in a note or something
