Description This drawing was born from one thing...I love to draw really BIG, and most of the sketchbooks I use kinda confine me to a 9"X12" space (I suppose I COULD just tape paper together, but it'd drive me nuts if something happened to it) If I use the big sketchbooks (I'm talking big-as-a-baby-panda sized books) then it'd be pretty much impossible to scan. So my friend here is expressing my frustration for me by letting me cram him into this little space. ^_^ Yep, he's a trooper.

x_x Egad, I have the very same problem! I think about it often. What -is- the biggest scanner size out there? There has GOT to be one bigger than printer paper size somewhere. I guess a photo could be taken, but a lot of the details aren't near as prominent.

This is such an awesome composition. *grin*

That scanner is, like, the Holy Grail of scanners. I think they only exist in Heaven now. I got a huge 18"X24" sketchbook a while ago, but I've been too in awe of the possibilities for it to even draw anything in it...

Thank you!

I really like this.

The composition makes the picture - it flows really well around the whole page.

When I was in art school we had the same troubles. We would wind up scanning a picture on a flat bed scanner in parts and reassembling them in Photoshop. It took a lot of time, but at least it turned out decent.

I'm having the same problem - the scanner I've been using is a tad bit smaller than my paper and it has raised sides. I wind up creasing my paper each time!

Anyway, great job!

It's something I just don't get...I mean, there's obviously a demand for bigger scanners, so why don't they just make them commercially available already? I bet it's some kind of evil conspiracy...

Thank you very much!

I've got the same problem, which is why so many of my drawings result with the feet below the knees lopped off. funny thing is, it tends to not make much difference what size paper I use, I always end up drawing too large and having the exact same issue. I guess I've just got a slightly skewed sense of scale.

I'm really impressed at your ability to utilize so much of the paper real estate so exactly, you leave practically nothing on any of the edges, thats really really impressive.

oh wait...looks like you cut off a very tiny tiny part of his big toe, I feel less inferior now

Sometimes it helps if you try to look at the paper like a three dimensional plane...kinda like your looking into it rather than at it...of course, that's hard for me, and I may not really know what I'm talking about. P:
Thank you veerrry much!

I sympathize. I draw big too and many of my pictures are scans of whatever would fit.

I'm in love with his belly button... and his feet. ^.^

You know, art stores sell these awesome HUGE sketchbooks that you could practically use to draw a lifesize outline of a human body. O_o Now, if only there were scanners that big...then life would be perfect.

Thank you!!

This is fabulous. Love his position and facial expression. I hate getting confined to small paper just to scan it--that's usually when I take a picture of it and say "deal."

This looks great! I love the pose. He's all "Let me try and squeeze here." I love drawing big too..especially for figure/life drawings.

Thank you! Man, yeah, it just doesn't seem like you can express enough on such small paper, does it? Gots to go BIG!!!
That's it...I don't care if graffiti is illegal. I have needs.

Man, thanks! I was really second-guessing myself on this, 'cause the proportions seemed off to me...then I figured it was just a sketch and could be easily fixed, anyway.
He makes my back hurt!

Don't you just hate that feeling? You're on a roll drawing something and then BAM! there's the end of the paper.

Yeah! It's so frustrating. It's easy to see why people snap and become graffiti artists...all that space, just begging to be covered...
