Description
Here are colors for page 3. Again, darned challenging to pick some color schemes that were visually interesting and clear. I'm pretty satisfied, but I may go in and tweak some things before I'm finally finished. I love Photoshop.)I've completed the lettering for this page (no, you'll just have to wait and see!) and I'm always amazed at just how "finished" a page looks with the lettering in place.

I just wanted to say that this panel of art, where you're showing a succession of events in the background and a singular set of "witness" figures in the foreground is VERY effective.

Im trying to color my pages too. I also do greytones in my stuff but i dont know how to color my pages without erasing them...any tips? I normally use layers but have to erase the background ... and by doing that i erase my greytones... is there other simpler way to do it?
Looking good by the way! I would ligthen up the purple tones a bit. In the other hand..a green(er) background would look good as well...
very cool!

Burnay - Here's what I do:
1. After scanning in the art, I put a layer on top that I fill with a color (typically background color). That layer should be set on MULTIPLY.
2. Use the Lasso tool to select areas to color (face, coat, hands, etc). Right-click the selection and save the selection. It will appear as a CHANNEL.
3. When you've got all of your areas defined, CTRL+click the CHANNEL you want to work on and adjust the Hue/Saturation/Lightness until it is a color that is close to what you want.
4. Add shadows/highlights.
That lets you work on a single layer, with lots of channels and lots of flexibility. Let me know how that works!

Wow...the way I do it is SOOOOO much more complicated, and takes at least ten layers. Thanks for explaining the technique.
ONe question...how do you turn a selection into a channel?
And when you pick the channel, is it the color you're picking to activate it, or do you have to choose it from the channel menu?
Thanks again.
And while I'm here...FANTASTIC WORK!! And I think the color scheme is really good.

Thanks, Ben!
You can make a selection into a channel by right-clicking the selection you've made and choosing "Save selection". That will make it into a channel. Once it's a channel, you can CTRL+click it to activate the selection and let you do all your modification goodness!
Fewer layers = smaller file size = happier computers.)
