Character designs by Luke McKay!My entry for contest. The song to base the entries off of was "Love, Save the Empty."
My inspiration came from the part of the song where it says
Again, the false affection.
Again, we break down inside.
Love save the empty.
Love save the empty, and save me.
This features Wash and South. I've read some fanfics where the two have a history and I've really enjoyed them; they give some depth to South that wasn't present in RvB.

you know it's kinda funny that some people (including me) thought that there was a romantic relationship between Wash and South (I think that it was born out of the Idea of, if South chose to change for the better and make amends a romance is probably what would've happened), but it turns out Wash possibly had a relationship with CT/Connie instead. Plus I think that Rooster Teeth created South to be killed off in a way that revealed a lot about Wash's character.

I can see maybe the brief whirlwind/unstable/short romance between the two, but I can't see any really deep or meaningful relationship beyond brothers(or siblings) in arms.

I always love drawings with South and Wash. Shows more to South's past and how the fandom sees her.

I love South; she needs some more love! And pairing her with Wash, or even just having them be close friends adds more to her character and makes the Recovery arc and Recontruction season more angsty.

I don't know if I support her with Wash XD as friends yeah I just can't see the romance in them though.
