Again they both stumbled away from each other, breathing heavily. Mai spared another glance towards Layla.
“There!”
Seeing the brief glance, Maddy spun towards Mai, looking to sweep her legs from under her. Flipping deftly over the outstretched leg, the other girl returned another kick with matched speed. Maddy brought up her own guard deflecting the strike away, this time anticipating the other girl’s next incoming blow. Mai pivoted again aiming a kick for her side.
With a growl, Maddy swiftly caught the attempt under her arm, keeping Mai from moving back. Bringing her other free arm around, her elbow connected with the smaller girl’s midsection. Mai gasped as the wind left her in a rush, stumbling back on her planted foot awkwardly. Again Maddy could feel the prickling on the nape of her neck as she stared after the other girl. For some reason her legs felt heavier as if was carrying more weight than before.Taking advantage, she pitched forward, and with a yell swung an uppercut that connected; sending her opponent reeling backwards.
“Ok! That’s what I’m fucking talking about!”
“Are you sure, why couldn’t we follow up?”
“Who cares!? Look at her! We can finish this now.”
