Took me bloody long enough.Here she is, finally. After two restarts and three tries at a good primer coat.
(May post progress pics of the between stages another time)
This, after weeks of off and on work is the refurbished USS Quasar.
Saucer from Ertl/AMT 1/1400 1701-D
Rear hull and nacelles(though inverted) from Ertl/AMT 1/1400 1701-E
Registry and markings by me from scanned and edited decal sheets.
Hull plating dowloaded from Starship Modeler.
I think she's a far cry from the original...which is a good thing.

I like the initial idea, but It needs a few things. Might have looked better if the deflector area naturally curved into the bridge module instead of looking cut off. Also, I think having a shuttlebay in the rear above the necelle pylons would look better. But over, nice job.

Shuttlebay 'is' at the back, between the nacelles.
And I agree that the transition needs to be smoother

Keep working man, kitbashing is a blast and you can only get better. Looking forward to seeing more posts. I've got a constitution class kitbash I'm working on, will post pics soon.

NX was her orginal hull number...kind of like the Excelsior was NX-2000 before she became NCC-2000
So having her with the old hull number is fine

Wasn't the kitbash that took the years to do.
It was deciding how she'd look in the first place.
Before coming up with the kitbash shown here, the Quasar went through at least three prior designs before ever even going ot the model stage.

I don't see why, all you had to do was take photo-copies of the blueprints and piece them together to see what it would look like. Is not that how most kitbashes are created?

Wasn't originally planning a kitbash when the Quasar was concieved.
She was originally concieved as the TNG version of my Pegasus class(USS Odysseus).
This version of the quasar was the first to use parts of both E and D, She was originally concieved only using parts of the D(which didn't work very well for what I was trying to do)
