How fitting a name. But if Kiongozi was his real name, why does everybody refer to him as "K-eye-on" instead of "Kee-on"?

Honestly, I thought it was just a classic franchise screw-up, but now that I think about it... Maybe it started out as a cubhood joke with his non-lion friends? "Kion" sounds a lot like "Lion" with a "K" and he's the only lion in his friend group. It could've just been a nickname that stuck.
A bit of a cop out, I know, but it's plausible.
