Very nice! I love the color. What speed do you set your camera on when you take pictures of the moon? All of mine turned out over exposed.

I measure spot of the moon and adjust accordingly.
if it's over exposed then use shorter shutter

Is it safe to look at the solar eclipse through a camera lens? wouldn't it be dangerous for you?
lovely shot none the less.

Dang, you got a pretty good view of the eclipse there x(
Around here the already cloudy day only got a itty bit darker, hard to notice I'd say...
Though people in the north part of the country could see it perfectly x_x
Oh, I so want to see one of these live, with my own eyes...

nice.
hey don't you go blind looking at an eclipse...or is that just a myth?

RoieG In reply to Kyaku [2006-03-31 19:20:09 +0000 UTC]
thanks
It's absolutely not a myth.
it's very dangerous, and I used a powerful ND to do that.

Wow! I tried to get some eclipse shots yesterday and - well you can't really tell there is an eclipse.
Did you use a filter or..some other technique?

RoieG In reply to Bamfi [2006-03-30 14:07:16 +0000 UTC]
thanks
I know it's hard, I used 10 stops ND filter

Looks pretty amazing. The sun hasn't been shining here for days and now you post this, it feels somehow very surreal. But I really like the photo and am glad that I was able to see this, like this if not for real. You've done neat job with it.

We've been having a horrible weather lately. Last week was brilliant; sunshine and snow was starting to melt. But now it snowed again and because of the temperature rising everything is damp and muddy.

Snow is fun as long as it's not damp and drizzle I'd say. Plus if you have a long furred dog this season ain't nice at all.

it's the third time in 10 years, I think, that Israel had sun eclipse. beautiful shot Roie
Aug. 99'
2005
and March 2006
Why didnt you take it with d200? not that it really matters
I shot my first eclipse at '99 with a mirror on top of the lense to block most of the sunlight and 22f but still it was too bright and Oxana had to under expose it while processing in the store so it will be of any use
hahahah...
cheers mate
see you soon in the holy land

Thank you my friend.
I used 10 stops ND filter, F/36 aperture and 1/6400 shutter.
I don't need oxana to achieve good results
See ya soon.
