uploaded this as a part of my submisison to the wild west challange on art station, but figured maybe some of you guys here would like an easy step on making scarring/nasty molting flesh details? For work i often google awful stuff (lately i had to look into ropeburns and what the infected wounds would look like) and so to save my own mind some damage i´ve realised..food can help you make things look nasty!
Step 1 - find some random picture of food of your choice (maybe try pasta for worm eaten skin? go crazy!)
Step 2 - mark out the area you wish to have affected on your picture (i tend to use a brush with some grunge to it for a little more ragged edges as well as variation in values)
Step 3 - add the pizza/food texture on either a soft light or lighten layer (play around with layer effects, maybe change the saturation of the texture, add in a little blue/green/pinkish hues)
Step 4 - profit

It´s not perfect but works great for a base to start painting over and saves you so many nasty references of awful things clogging up your brain^_^
