Description
This is simply too much work to put into my scraps.Since I actually KNOW how to do this now I can illustrate military tactics and procedures a little more accurately. This is a CrossBolt team lead by Riko stacking to clear a room, or a series of rooms.
Take careful note that Riko has a carbine version of the STG 57. You can see the full length version in Leyna's capable hands as the 3rd squad member.
I was making an effort to standardize their gear and equipment and break my bad habit of drawing whatever gun I think is cool in their hands at any given time. I've standardized the upper receivers to use a charging handle with a forward assist, even though it's still a piston-driven (more like an STG44 or an AK47) gas system that cycles the weapon. Even though it's formatted more like an M16 now, there's no ridiculous recoil buffer tube to deal with, so they have folding stocks if you really look at the details.
I've had some recent hands on experience (IRL! WOW!) with examining the functional and aesthetic differences between modern western tactical firearms and 1940's/50's (I went out and bought a CZ 52 that fires old soviet Tokarev rounds, also been to a lot of gun shows lately).
Remember - Riko and Seri's world is not our own, it takes place in a world kind of in the 1940's but infused with reverse-engineered alien technology. They still use weapons that would make sense for the era, even if they have powered armor.

And it is great to see Riko and that armour again
Even if I am a little late off the mark commenting
Mind blowing details as always mate... and of course great job getting all the poses to fit together. I'm curious now: is there actually a set way to do that so you don't get in each others' way?

Stacking to clear a room?
The idea is that you're literally on top of each other so you can move without having to talk, you fan out as you enter the room (the guy on point goes left or right, the next the opposite direction ('button hook'), the third is top cover, and the rear guard is the one who kicks/opens the door. Everyone has locations they're supposed to sweep (corners first, etc.) and end up in certain places (points of domination).
My Drill Sergeant taught us to only clear a room as fast as you're comfortable walking, so it's not like they rush in as fast as they can in the movies.
Things are much more spread out and coordinated much differently when you're in open ground, so this is just for clearing enclosed spaces.

For the most part it looks pretty good. Just the way its monotone sort of blurs the lines between characters and confuses a bit.

It's always good to have gun experience when drawing guns.
Good to see you're putting that into practice. This one is pretty good looking. Any chance we'll see this finished one day?

When you put this much detail into scraps, you know the stuff in the gallery is the good stuff.

hehe, too bad you -know- how to draw... sorry if i hate people in the military who think their tactics are utterly superior to any "civilian" (you guys use the word like it's poison)
