The Mask was one of my all time favorite movies when I was a kid, and this was before I got old enough to be distracted by being interested in pretty people, back when I loved Jim Carrey for being funny. Not to say I don't anymore, it's just sexual attraction seems to overshadow everything else for me when I like something lolSo The Son of the Mask does awaken the childish nerd in me, with the references toi the first movie, the legendary Loki in the full and sexy flesh, and all the fun Norse stuff, although if I knew anything at all about Norse mythology I might not be too pleased lol
I love the idea Loki creating the Mask, something that would bring out your deepest, darkest desires or most true self, but with often hroribly destructive consequences. And then having this godly artifact being lost on Midgard, where some regular asshole could just find it and have her or his life either totally ruined or improved. It's kinda cool.
And sorry, but you're going to be seeing more of him for a while, for I'm quite taken by Alan Cumming, esp. as Loki (almsot typed Toki lol). Such a fun character, and such fabulous, incredibly sexy clothes. I havne't even begun to properly worship this demon-god
I tried some new coloring techniques, like minimalist. I am always, always struggling to ink shiny leather the way talented comic artists do.

The only good things about Son of the Mask
1. The concept.
2. Loki

lmao so very true! I love the mythology concept, absolutely loved the first one, and this Loki was just too perfect. But you're right, everything else about this sequel was disappointing. What a shame!

No its not the mythology concept I was talking about. That already existed in the first movie. I was talking about the concept of a child being born of the Mask. Now that is a salvageable concept. Personally though, I would have preferred to see a prequel where we learn the origin of the Mask. Cause in the first film, all we had to go on was that the Mask was apparently a representation of Loki and apparently granted its wearer his powers durring the night.

The biggest problem with "Son of the Mask" is that it took 90 minutes to tell poorly what "The Mask Animated Series" told well in 25 minutes with "Baby's Wild Ride."
The two best things in it were Alan Cumming and the live-action Mask-Mobile.

well it's been a while since I've watched the X Men movies, but I did like them. I've been an X Men fan since I was a little tiny kid, my love for that rivaling, but not quite exceeding my love for Batman. Wolverine has always been my favorite xD

Wolverine is everyone's favorite xD I actually have a poster of him on my rooms wall ha. Though, I think the third movie was just completely horrible, as it butchered a lot of good good characters. My another favorite Beast got so little screentime it was completely waste to have in that movie.

haha I know and I really hate to be like everyone else, but I have loved him since I was a little kid. Nowadays I'm not that into the X Men, but still have a childish attachment to Wolverine because of my childhood love. And damn, Hugh Jackman is pretty perfect at the role! lol
I'm pretty sure I saw the third one, was that the one with Deadpool? If so, it started out pretty good, then just went haywire. Nothing I hate more than movies getting the canon wrong! lol

That Deadpool-movie is actually fourth, and not really part of the X-men movieseries, but I liked it - but that's probably because IΓ€ve never liked Deadpool that much and didn't give a shit if he was butchered. And I loved loved loved Sabretooth in that one <3
Third one was the one with ANgel and Pheonix and it was just a big mess xD

hhah I love Deadpool. Normally I'm not a Marvel fan, but I do appreciate him. Howegver, I was upset at how they handled his character in the movie. Sabretooth was really awesome in it, yes. He was also in Hamlet 2000, which I really love, so bonus points for that xD

Alan was only in the second one, I think they had problems with his contract, and he couldn't make appearance in the third one or something.

hahah the Deadpool movie was a travesty on the comics. I thought Deadpool was great at first, and thought the movie would make up for the other obvious "wrong" facts. But then when they made him into that monster that couldn't talk, that just ruined it. It was basically killing the character off. But I guess their only other choice was to do right by the character and then have to cover pretty Ryan's face with horrible scars! lol
Liev Shreiber is the best. He was lovely in Hamlet 2000

Thank you! 8D Ya, I really love the Mask movies, and I'm totaly with you. Trickster characters are the best! I think it's so cool that there is a god for that. Gotta say I wasn't all that interested in Norse mythology until this movie lol
