It's not that difficult, there are some good patterns of victorian costumes and you can find many things at flew markets (is that the englicsh name? a market where peeole deal with used and old things)..old clocks are helpful for example

Denk ich eher nicht, wir hatten es nochmal auf der Nichi an. aber steampunk wollen wir nochmal machen, allerdings ganz neue KostΓΌme dann (wobei ich mich wie immer noch nicht entscheiden kann was ich dann will...es gibt soviel tolles und man kann so schΓΆn kreativ sein!)

Looking at this pic just inspires me to get into steampunk! You guys look so cool, I want to know more about these characters lives and histories (and their jobs!) I especially love how it's in front of a locomotive! Awesome stuff! That looks like it's in a museum! I wonder if you guys got weird looks from other museum-goers (but that's on the assumption that you took this photo in a museum...x''D )
Either way, I love this picture, I love the idea, I love the costumes and I just feel so inspired by this piece!!

Thank you so much for your kind words!! Where do I start? Ok, it was no museum, the place is a rail rainway station (Leipzig). There are some old locomotives. and yes...the people looked when we made the photosession (it was soooo cold..it was in March..v.v)
The characters all are members of an airship crew. The captain, we have weapon engineers, scince engineers, a specialist for languages, a board photographer, a thief (don't know how she mede it on board Oo), communication engineers (the lady in blue), two pilots, a mechanican etc. ...

We hve REALLy such a luck to know very talented photographers (a costume could be perfect but without the man behind the camera it is NOTHING!)
Maybe you'll make some steampunk stuff, too! It's a wonderful way to be creative and to design some own costumes ^.^ (next to fantasy characters, I LOVE fantasy ^^)
