Description Given the left is 'Thomas & The Great Railway Show" and the right being "The Great Race", it seems quite coincidental that there's a "Busted Buffer Thomas" in both occasions...!

Meanwhile I made this picture, baffled that these two engines are the same character. Two extremely different eras.

Nah, it was probably just Arc saying "We can still have damage on the engines!"

Damn........WHY DIDN'T I SEE THAT?

Andrew and Ian with their team really stepped up their game with The Great Race.

Dang. They've taken inspiration from the great railway show book itself!!

This is better then a simple Railway series adaptation.

The difference between that and the Great Race is that Thomas's buffer beam is fine (except his buffers), and his smoke box is not damaged. Man, I can't understand why Thomas is in his different looks through out the movies.

You mean like in 'Lost Treasure' where he was all scuffed and scraped?
I kinda like it, it gives Thomas a sort of 'exclusive' look to a particular special instead of looking the same all the time. With the paint and lost buffer this year, makes me wonder if he's gonna get a 'new temporary' look for next year's special.
