Description
Here's a random fantasy sketch of a dark army being struck by holy wrath. It might have been more interesting if I had brought the explosion closer to the foreground character, and had some sort of angel hovering over it, sort of like a face off. Maybe that would make a good followup pic.
It's still pretty loose, I might have to update it a bit later, when I have some time.

Gives me some Warhammer Fantasy vibes, and anything that does that properly is cool in my book. Nevermind the fact that it's just cool in general. The character you have here is great, and I love how his mount looks just as evil and in on the whole world domination plan as its rider is.
What little detail we have of the undead legions is neat, but somewhat inconsistent. One of them has a full bucket helm, like most of the legions as far as I can tell, but the skeleton next to him has a rambo bandana and wild hair, while the one on the farthest left has a pirate setup with his bandana and significantly spiker and less plate-y looking armor. The two that stand out kind of detract from the legion, unless they are meant to be unique, and still retain their minds and souls because they were evil enough to directly serve the main big bad of the picture, which would turn the inconsistency into a really cool story feature.
As for the holy wrath, I'd say that there was some sort of war-ending war machine back there that the big bad was about to conquer the world with, and the protagonists got enough prayer points to take specifically it out remotely. Now the bad guy is furious with his trump card being fired, and now has to make the decision whether or not to keep on marching his legions without it.
Of course, this is your character, your art, and thus your story. I'm in a suggest-happy world-building mood lately, so that's why I threw all these ideas at you. Regardless, your art is really cool, and will be a fine addition to my collection.

This is an oooold artwork, but from what I remember, I wanted the skelly army to look like it was gathered together from different enemy armies that were defeated and then raised again to serve the evil army. So I thought the best way to illustrate that would be to make the armor of the individual soldiers you could see look different, and kind of ramshackled together. No intention of pirates though, like the head covering bandanna. I used to wear a head wrapping bandanna like that when I was younger, and so it's a bit of personal nostalgia, I think.
I am not terribly fond of this drawing anymore, but I did learn a lot from it! I am glad you enjoyed looking at it, and that you took some time to really consider the different elements.
