It's been a while since I drew dear ol' Lin, so here she is! I worked on this over the weekend. It's a continuation of the series I was doing of her strolling through town, on the way to work.
About the picture:
"Lin gave a bashful wave to the merchant as she passed by. She had been caught ogling the latest display of highborn fashion, and felt it wise to move on before the clothier took it as an invitation to promote her newly imported stock. Still, it was a nice dress, and the weekend was just around the corner... Perhaps some window shopping would be in order, come her next day off."

Aw, that's totally sweet. Little character interactions like this really feel like a living world - the kind of thing Hayao Miyazaki masters. Also, not even a a nose like the merchant's can make your characters look anything but cute.

Yay! Anytime my work is compared to the grand Miyazaki makes my day! As far as the feel of his work, I can't imagine a better role model. I hope to even touch on some of his success in storytelling, someday.
And glad you like the merchant, she's a bit of an exploration out of my "same face syndrome" that my work is known for. XD

You did an amazing job with the backgrounds and clothing this is really cool

You've always had such a gift with creating scenes. I really like you correlated their expressions. I really like Lin's happy, yet remorseful, face and the hopeful smile the tailoress wears really helps to complete the scene. The palette's really earthy and soft, helps make the blue dress stand out well. I'm really fond of the sense of movement you captured through shadows in the skirts. It's intriguing. Good stuff! Great job. Well done.
