Description For the sketchbook prompt "Portrait of Shadow and Light". Self-portrait.

I had a lot of fun with this one, honestly. I took a picture of myself then desaturated it and turned the contrast as high as it would go for reference. Of course, while I was painting this, I was having too much fun to remember to have points aligned (ie: the lips). I can't fix it, either, as I don't want to paint over the collage underneath. That's why I didn't do the "light" part of the prompt, as well, though I did fiddle with GIMP some more to make a ref for the highlights.

Moving to scraps soon.

It doesn't belong in scraps.

My art teacher agrees with you! It's part of the portfolio I sent off to both colleges.
