At the corner of Olive Blvd and Llewelyn in Olivette (St. Louis County) Missouri. It was torn down in 1997 and a brick apartment building now occupies the spot.

I thought it was a great looking house and, except for some wear to the exterior, it was in good shape. I would say that its biggest problem was that it didn't have a kitchen. And that's a pretty big problem. I think the kitchen had been attached to the back of the house and had had to be removed for some reason. The owners tried to turn a room into a small kitchen, but the ground floor layout just didn't give any good options.

I had earlier gotten into the basement at the back end of the house. It had an outside entrance and it contained the furnace. From that part of the basement, there was no access to the rest of the house. I later got into the house when a crew had gone in to salvage anything of value. While I was there, I could see that they were taking the wall paneling, light fixtures, doors, copper wire and pipe and they were even pulling up the wood floor (you really had to pay attention while you were walking around if you didn't want to fall into the basement.
