Description
Professor Oak and Agatha before their journeys.I have no clue what's canon in Pokemon anymore--I'm only a 1st Gen so please be lenient with me.
Only recently discovered Professor Oak's first name is Samuel (pretty cool) and he's featured in a movie as a kid with really ridiculous hair (not cool).
Anyway, I've always imagined Professor Oak and Agatha start as rookies in the same hometown/city, or met very early on, becoming kinda inseparable until parting ways due to differences in interests (Elite Four member vs Pokemon researcher).
So yeah, hope you like this!

Yeah, you've got about 5 generations to catch up on.Β
Aftern X and Y comes out in October, the total number of pokemon is likely to near or top 800.Β

I think I saw his first name on Bulbapedia. Β
Oh, that sounds familiar now, Pokemon 4 Ever... never saw it though. Β Why were you mind blown?
Thanks! Β I learned a lot from that tutorial, namely how to apply editing like hue/saturation etc across multiple layers (I didn't know it was possible!). Β Things'll be a lot easier now!

That was the movie with Oak as a child I'm pretty sure. With Celibi and all that.
Oh, I might have to check this out, across multiple layers huh? was it the adjustments panel...?
either way, your picture looks awesome! I like how you added the age to it.

Ahaha wow, I think that might be the movie I only watched partway, because my cat had died that day, and I thought a Pokemon movie would be safe enough to watch without making me cry, but then Celibi appeared to have "died" but didn't or something and I couldn't take watching more. Β It's also around the time Finding Nemo came out, so I thought that'd be safe to watch too, but then Nemo appeared to have "died" as well hahaha.
In the tutorial it tells you to create a "solid color layer" or "hue/saturation" layer or "levels" layer, which comes from a different menu than simply the "create new layer" thingy, and I realized these specific new types of layers were applying to all the layers below, rather than just affecting itself!

Aww, that's terrible! It was pretty hard to see celibi all dying and stuff as a kid, must have been awful for you! I hated nemo because it had a dentist in it. Uhhg, I had some form of dentophobia or something and had to close my eyes and plug my ears and I then decided I hated that movie. That's a shame about losing your cat though.
Oh wow that's cool, yup favoriting the tutorial now lol.
Thanks for linking it. I wonder if you'll find a way to apply that to your art from now on.

Ugh, that must've been horrible for you during all that dentist stuff! Β Haha, we both dislike that movie for sorta unfair reasons
Definitely! Β I separate my colors on so many different layers (hair, skin, shirt, undershirt, pants, etc), that when I wanna edit the overall hue or values of everything, it's extremely tedious since I have to do one at a time... but now I can do all!!

Hahaa a little bit.
I do the same, I really don't like having different colors on the same layer hahaa.
