Pixel again!This is Mighty the Armadillo, for those of you who don't know
My favorites growing up were actually Tails and Mighty, though the latter is pretty unknown nowadays, which I have no qualms about that at all. (actually, I prefer it) So, I'm incredibly happy with how this turned out. Really the first time in my life I was able to render an image exactly how I imagined it in my head. I've also been looking at a lot of digital landscapes recently, so I was motivated to create something with a lot of color and depth.

Well I'm a member of like three fanart groups and three Sonic groups, so I submitted it to those, and other groups requested it. Cuz it's fanart and fanart always gets way too much attention lol

Haha, I think I stay alive because I lack amazingness in other important areas like cooking, making small talk, and not being socially awkward. Uargh, I'm such a weirdo!

Pixel art usually refers to very small pieces of art with very limited colors, originally used in old video game sprites and backgrounds.
Look at this [link] See how in the sky, you can see little dots? In pixel art, you use individual pixels to color, there's no blending at all. Here's another example, and the artist has a zoomed in view beside it so you can see the pixel work: [link]
Bascially, pixel artists only use the pencil and eraser tool. The pencil tool is that really ugly tool in Microsoft Paint

Looks very difficult from what I've been seeing, I even tried to do ir myself, but I had no clue on how to begin with it. Guess I must find some nice tutorials if I wanna do it. But I'm not sure!

Nah, it's good to always try different techniques and styles while you're still developing, because you get to see what you like best and it's easier to experiment from one to the other. Before I would only draw more realistic things, and it took me years to realize that I HATE drawing that way, I love being cartoony

And.. Well, I don't know.. I actually enjoyed all the different things I used in traditional art, but I can't really find something I enjoy in digital, and that's kinda sad.. >:

I think it's fine if you wanna stick to traditional art. I dunno, some people act like only doing digital is horrible, and some people act like only doing traditional is horrible. It's just artist preference!

I kinda envy artists that are good with digital.. I mean, digital art looks really awesome (specially when you see it on a computer screen 
I just feel more confortable with traditional (specially with pencils), and that's maybe because I'm used to it, I've been drawing only with pencils for years. *-*
I also like that in traditional you get to "get dirty" XD

Absolutely wonderful! The detail in it, as well as the classic Sonic flair, is great. Really gets to me because I'm so in love with the older Sonic style, it has so much appeal.
I just love the mystical feeling the background gives with Angel Island and the murky grounds below, as well as the reflection and angle we get to see Mighty. Just an all-around great shot!

Intreauging shading, very well done. 
I noticed how you very well combined THREE zones together. (I'm guessing Green Hill, Angel/Floating Island, and Ice Cap.)
And I love the work on they eyes, and how the sun sort of hits behind his armor.

Hurray, history lesson about Mighty the Armadillo!
Concepts for SEGA's mascot was actually a tie of sorts between a hedgehog and an armadillo, because of their ability to roll into a ball. Ultimately the hedgehog won out, who developed into Sonic. After the release of Sonic 1 (1991), the armadillo was redesigned and made his first appearance in SegaSonic the Hedgehog (1993, a very little-known arcade game [link] ) alongside Sonic and Ray the squirrel. I never even heard of the game until last year I think, but you have to take a look at it, it's so hilarious: [link]
Mighty's better known for his appearance in Knuckles Chaotix (1995, also a lesser known game [link] ), which also featured Knuckles, Espio, Charmy, and Vector; that's where I first saw Mighty. He hasn't been in a game ever since though.

Haha, you're welcome. I kinda felt like a dork writing it, but I just found out about all the Mighty stuff a month or so ago, and I think it's pretty interesting.
I LOVE the voice acting on that game. Just over and over "Waaaah!" the same exact sound
Hm, about Ray... I don't think he was replaced, because Sonic 2 was released in 1992 (I thought it was after SegaSonic, but I was wrong). But I do think Tails' design ended up being favored over Ray's.

I have seen videos where people think they are all that in a video game, and they just get their butts kicked terribly XD (i was bored and watched this video about this nazi zombie level on COD? or something I forget for the xbox 360 and this guy kept on going on about they were just so awesome and that everyone should fav his video and crap, and the dude died in less then a minute XD)
Its a sad thing that happened, I would have loved to play with Ray XD or Mighty, but instead I was shown Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Blaze, Rouge and so on XD
they should make a new sonic game, that has the trio of Sonic Ray and Mighty again, for old times sake XD

Eh, I wouldn't look forward to a game featuring Ray or Mighty, not until the Sonic franchise finds its footing again. Did you hear how they're pulling Sonic games that got lower reviews from stores so their franchise isn't so saturated with mediocre games? I can't help but laugh at that
