Pixel again!This is Mighty the Armadillo, for those of you who don't know
My favorites growing up were actually Tails and Mighty, though the latter is pretty unknown nowadays, which I have no qualms about that at all. (actually, I prefer it) So, I'm incredibly happy with how this turned out. Really the first time in my life I was able to render an image exactly how I imagined it in my head. I've also been looking at a lot of digital landscapes recently, so I was motivated to create something with a lot of color and depth.

LOL ARE YOU SERIOUS??? XDDDD Well the sonic games, at least the newer ones/the ones that came out within the last four fives years weren't that good anyway XD I liked the classics more.
I just hope that when/if they do (as in the sonic people) get better at making these games they put Ray and Mighty in it

Yeah, I keep hearing about how they're pulling games, but now that I actually sit down and look it up on google, I can't really find a legit article about it, so I'm not sure if it's just a rumor 
I agree, if they somehow do manage to change their marketing strategy to one that emphasizes a simple storyline and better platforming (and eliminate voice acting....or get better actors/scriptors) that seeing Mighty in a game would be pretty sweet. Though I have to admit I'd be picky about how he's portrayed... since they tend to make physically strong characters into idiot muscle heads

and speaking of style, now this is kinda switching the subject/randomness, but have you noticed how many people on dA draw with a sonic style? like everything they draw is sonic-tised
uggg that they do, the voices just annoy me terrible DX
also with the idiot muscle heads thing, didn't they do it to that crocodile character (can't remember the name right now)? Its a terrible stereotype or whatever when they do crap like that. It makes the games very un-enjoyable.

Yeah, I'm not sure what personality Vector (the crocodile) originally had since I was never interested in him, but in Heroes he's a blundering idiot. Ugh, the characters are so formulaic, there's basically only three types: cool, muscle head, and kindergardener. With some emo or objectified sex object here and there for good measure. They're all tropes.

hmm a mix of both. Like there are a crap ton of fan characters, but there are also people that everything they possibly could draw is in a sonic style, with the big eyes and the little bodies and spikes all that

Yeah that too, about the mary/marty sue thing. But the hoards of fans just eat it up, and that's the audience they're catering to now unfortunately... It's the fate of a-many long-running series when their fanbase becomes so large they can just start coasting on overused stuff

I don't understand how they could eat it up. I preferred when all the sonic games did was sonic running around collecting rings. The fan base is very atrocious. Full of a bunch of furrys and just plain ol odd people.

Haha, atrocious is a great word to describe them. I see so much fetish art and nasty sexualized styles here... That's why I've never ventured into making Sonic fanart til now, I was horrified of being flooded with Sonic tards
I always feel that simpler is better, which is why the old games are more successful. The premise was simple, the story was simple, the game play was simple. When you focus on only a few key elements for a game or any other medium, you can really make those elements shine. What really made the Genesis games were the physics and the level art, in my opinion. The level art is so detailed with such great stylization. I mean when you think back, no one really gave a hoot about Sonic's or any other characters' personality or development, because that wasn't important. Changing the focus from platforming to characters was a really bad move, especially when the characters are made to be soooooo stereotypical and lame.

Simpler is better! I liked it when you could press A B the control stick and the left and right button now there are all these complicated buttons and orders you have to press them.
Things are better without a backstory (i feel like you would like this song [link] its about sonic XD)

Art of fan characters 
It'd be awesome if they did two versions of Sonic, the old one and the new one, but with separate games and never combining. That way they don't lose their current fanbase, but they can make games that don't suck lol
