Description
When I draw a character, I use to draw him/her naked: it's a good anatomy exercise and moreover I feel more connected to him/her, like if he/she were more "real". Yolane is one of the most vulnerable characters of mine, I could say a lot about her, but I prefer letting you free interpretation

I'm sorry if this is a weird comment or something, but it's definitely an interesting feeling having such a unique name and living 23 years never hearing of it anywhere and then to randomly look it up on DA to find a character like this. My given name is Yolane and I'm very much surprised and glad to find that someone has thought of my name for a character. I'm sorry for replying so late too.
I read it the English way mostly because I've grown up in the USA and it's easier for everyone around me to say Yo-Lah-ni. But I actually am of Mexican descent and so in Spanish, you pronounce it Yo-la-neh and other variations of that dependent on what dialect of Spanish you speak. I've only had one other person pronounce it the French way, and that was my roommate because she didn't know how I pronounced my name. But it is a derivative of my Mother's name which is Yolanda an extremely common name around here. Yet, living in the USA I hear many different pronunciations of my name. including those you mentioned it is a variant of. Yolande, Yolaine, Yolanda, Yolin, Leilani, Lalani, sometimes people think it's a Polynesian name but the most common is Yo-lain because that follows the grammatical rules of English. We say we have Grammar rules, but we break them all the time. hahaha! But usually when I go to other countries, I have them say it like I say it in Spanish because my name is Hispanic to me at least and it's easier for people outside of the US to say pure vowels.
