Here's something weird to me about Captain Marvel. Ever since the stinger for Infinity War, which prominently featured her emblem, she's been really built up for this year. Marvel even made an origin movie for her so we'd know what she's like and what she can do before Endgame came out. And in Endgame...she really doesn't do much. Sure, she's important to the plot, but she basically just 1) saves Tony and Nebula, 2) helps defeat Thanos, 3) gets a ridiculous (though comic-accurate) haircut, 4) destroys Thanos' warship, 5) flirts with Peter Parker to get the Infinity Stones, and 6) gets the stones to Iron Man. Considering she's the strongest Avenger, that's not a whole lot she does. Granted, being so powerful, she'd probably make things way too easy throughout the movie and it wouldn't be dramatically satisfying. Still, seems like a letdown to me.
One thing I really like about Captain Marvel is her costume. I really like the use of pastel primary colors. It makes it look like a Golden Age superhero outfit. At the same time, the amount of detail in the costume makes it seem like an outfit that could exist in the real world and be worn by Kree soldiers. That's why I've drawn Rosalina and Candy in her costume within the past few weeks.
I thought it would be amusing to draw Captain Marvel taunting Black Widow over their respective outfits. I've said before that Black Widow is my favorite Avenger which is why it hurts so much that she died so unceremoniously in Endgame, but I will admit that her costume isn't as cool. I mean, it's meant to be practical, but so is Captain Marvel's, and it looks a million times cooler. So Captain Marvel's decided to point this out mockingly to her. Admittedly, I don't think Captain Marvel would be this cocky, but I thought it would be funny. Don't worry, Black Widow; Captain Marvel's outfit may look nice, but you'll always be my favorite Avenger.
