there's not much to say about Princess Pirlipat. I think she deserved her ugliness. it reflected who she really was on the inside.

My guess is this, depending on which version of the Nutcracker it's based on... Drosselmeyer( who gets blamed by the king) and his friend the court astrologer are forced to leave their families, for a great many years in order to find a Crackatook nut on the king's orders( pain of death if they failed), upon coming back were they given one by the former's cousin/find it in a small shop, and it's given to the king. Out of all the men only Drosselmeyer's nephew was able to break the curse, however the mouse queen manages to transform the nephew into a nutcracker, and Pirlipat though beautiful on the outside shows how selfish and vain she really is. Upon the princess's( sometimes it's the king's orders) as a way of 'thanks' let's it be known that she refuses to marry her hero upon promise( due to his ugliness) and has Drosselmeyer exiled with his nephew still trapped in Nutcracker form.
... Basically the princess ruined everything by forcibly separating loving families, sending good people into exile for her own selfish reasons, and having a man reminded everyday of all that he has lost due to her inconsideration.
