Mikey is now recalling how he and his family got into this terrible situation. He actually had a bad feeling to start with, but didn't know how to make his misgivings relevant to his siblings' decision-making.-*-
HI! Yes, might as well start the new chapter off right with two whole pages right off the bat! The following pages of the 2nd Chapter are going to illustrate what happened the night Karai came for Leo. This was suggested by SupernalGodzilla02 as something that should actually be seen and not just heard about during the characters' conversations. So, if you don't like flashback sequences, well, you only have the two of us to shame.
More to come! Stay tuned!
OH, also! The colors on this page are SO subdued the page might as well have been done in total black & white - but hey, it's a flashback so, why not make it distinct from the main story, eh?

I'm torn about feeling bad about Karai and wondering why our self sacrificing idiot Leo got himself into that mess.
Honestly Karai, you should be feeding on your own people.
Instead you've enslaved Leo. The boys wont let that stand once they find him. No matter what he says.

But anyway, no need to feel sorry for Karai; while she's not the antagonist of the comic, she's not much of a protagonist either. She's caught somewhere in the middle, neither good nor evil. She's just trying to return to normal (regain her humanity) and ended up dragging the turtles into her struggle.
Also, self-sacrificing as Leonardo is he did not volunteer to help Karai, as we'll see in the next few pages. And when his brothers (or rather Mikey) come for him, he'll do his best to escape with them despite the inherent complications.

Okay, I suppose I should tell you this comic has two sides to it which I'm calling Blood+Sweat and Blood+Sweat R. (the following may be considering something of a minor spoiler | this is the alert)

In the first half, we'll be following Leo, Mikey and the Foot Clan as they search for Vam Mi whilst relocating their base of operations to a small abandoned island in the East River - North Brother Island.
In the second half, Blood+Sweat R, we'll be following Donnie, Raph, and Vam Mi's crew as they train amongst the ruins of Pollepel Island, waiting for the Foot to bring the fight them.

And when I say 1st half/2nd half, I'm not meaning one part comes before or after the other. Actually they both run parallel to each other and I'll be loading pages for both! If I told Blood+Sweat as one story, it'd take a while to get to Raph and Don, and I don't think readers want that. It's important to know what's happening with both sides of the team at this point which is why I decided to make Blood+Sweat R. After all, some crazy stuff'll be happening on both sides, and shouldn't be missed!
Oookay, apologies if all this info came thru as BLAH BLAH BLAH and I ended up totally boring you. I can talk too much - often about things no one really cares to know.
