I love the IDW TMNT series - in fact, I'm always surprised when I run into a Ninja Turtles fan who doesn't actually read it. It's crazy good! They're SO depriving themselves of excellent storytelling!

Anyway I'm jumping the gun and bringing Leo's encounter with the Rat King full circle. In issue No.38 Splinter and Leo are taken captive (for a little while anyway) by the IDW Rat King - who is WAY cooler than any of his other incarnations! XD Anyway, he's the Pied Piper of old and so therefore has the power to control other beings physically (as in not mentally), although he can make you forget you've seen him.

In issue 38 he said everyone was his pawns, to be used as he saw fit. But then, after seeing Leo in action, he refers to the blue-masked turtle as being "more a knight than a pawn." Then, before disappearing, he said that when he entered the battle for the world, he would "lead with [his] knight." I was like: 0.o Dude's got plans for LEO!! DX

So here's the Rat King, appearing from his pocket dimension to claim Leonardo. Leo of course, has only just remembered his and his father's previous encounter with the antediluvian menace when he realizes he can't move - or even speak. He'd been on patrol, scouting out Foot movement, when all at once-!

The Rat King is all: "Come my knight, to war." And Leo just wants to scream - for once again he is being taken from his family...
OH, Leo!!!

PS: I'm not much of a background artist, but I'm trying to get better.
