See, I have this weirdish sense of humor. Not even my family understands it! -_-I happen to headcanon Soarin as very gullible and superstitious and the rest of his totes cray family tend to take advantage of him, his status, naming his children stupid things, ect, ect. Beware the in-laws, RD! She's already had a hard enough night giving birth. Why is her husband springing his superstitious jargon on her at this very moment!?
So no, he and Rainbow Dash aren't together in my main verse. I unfortunately am too soft for SoarinFire to legitimately put him and RD together in the main verse.

Oh that does sound like a problem. Using a certain pattern of spikes would make the work really hard. Saying this with your best interests in mind, you should probably stress less about it and just let it be randomly spikey. ^^

Yeah but I was trying to have a certain look I based him off Travis Touchdown so I was trying to get people to see that maybe I can tame the spikes a wee bit

Nah, that's doesn't seem like the problem. I looked up Travis Touchdown, so I can see where your coming from. Looking at him, I think you should solidify the lines. You should have texture lines within the hair, so we can see where it's spiking up, like drawing with perspective. The spikes would look less flat with them imho. You don't need too many. Simplicity seems like your MO.
