Description
Ah after a while....Continued from: roses-and-feathers.deviantart.β¦
*Mr and Mrs McHuffy quickly arrive in the town area of Duskville- towards the local potions shop. Both enter the shop, and the doorbell rang*
old creepy Voice coming from the side of the shop: Customers? Again?
Mr McHuffy: errr...Hello? Is that Abigail W. Crafter?
Voice: Why yes it is me, Abigail. I've had a lot of customers this week for some reason....*sneezes* I really need to dust my shelves....or even hire new helpers to clean...not clumsy ones.....*sigh* Ok, McHuffys what brings you here?
Mrs McHuffy: it appears that our son, Greg, has drunk one of your potions.....
Abigail: Greg? that little bespecticled Wolf pup? *stern face* Has your son been sneaking into my shop when I was out at LUNCH?! I'll TURN HIM INTO A FUR STOLE IF HE DOES IT AGAIN! HE'S NOT OF AGE TO BE ALLOWED INTO MY-
Mrs McHuffy: *Frightened yet annoyed look* No NO NO, good Gory, CALM THE BLOODY H*** down! He actually found some instructions on a sheet of paper you appear to have thrown out in the alleyway.
Mr McHuffy: *holds up Alternectar Powder sheet with a worried look* I believe it is THIS we are talking about.
*Abigail looks at sheet and Gasps*
Abigail: OH MY- THE ALTERNECTAR POWDER SHEET! I remember having a couple of trial runs with that potion....it was ....disastrous and shocking....
Mrs McHuffy: What do you mean by disastrous??...*even more worried*
Abigail: I tested it on my previous cat- I mixed it with her water during her mealtime. As her regular self, she was calm and placid. Not to mention very gentle. However, under the potion's effect she turned into a panther- in every sense of the word. Apart from her stature becoming that of a large cat, her personality completely flipped- she was loud, ruthless and violent. and alas....*sad* I had no cure at that time, so she had to get put down.....
Mrs McHuffy: *Wide eyed and horrified* GREG's GOING TO BE IN-
Abigail: I HAVEN'T FINISHED-
Mrs McHuffy: Oh sorry.
Abigail: While it was a disasterous and tragic result with my dear cat, thankfully I conjured an antidote for my next run- where I tested it on a gentle lamb.....
Mr McHuffy: A LAMB? a lowly animal merely for prey and to BE HUNTED?! Why didn't you test it on THAT before-
Abigail: *sighs* Mistakes happen....Anyways, under the potion, the lamb turned out rather...aggressive and bothersome. But with a use of the antidote I made from nightshade and toad warts..... it soon got better.......and the symptoms slowly started to fade...
Mr McHuffy: *worried yet hopeful* D-Do you happen to have some of the antidote left?
Abigail: Oh yes *holds up the bottle from a shelf*
Mrs McHuffy: So a seven day cure.....Basically, we give him the antidote, then wait seven days till the effect of the Alternectar potion wears off....
that means we have to watch over him OR when we are busy, get his good friend Olivia to watch over him for seven days to ensure he doesn't reallly run amok when under the potion effect?
Mr McHuffy: and how much for this antidote? Sure it dosen't seem like the best....but at least it DOES something.....
Abigail: .......it appears that my toad wart antidote isn't exactly on sale....but since you anthro-wolves seem VERY panicky and worried for your son- and you seem like the sort who are genuine despite not being the most well-to-do folk in Duskville.....I will give it the price of 10 Tuppence.
Mrs McHuffy: OH OH OH THANK YOU so much Abigail! Our son REALLY needs help and I'm glad we found it! Praise be to the Moon!
Mr McHuffy: Now we need to ensure that our dear Greg REALLY stays out of trouble..
Me: Heh, lets see if they can really keep him out of trouble, as soon as the next chapter comes:

It's been a while since we've seen any updates on the story but it's good to see it continuing. At least Greg's parents now have a cure to help their son but it's now a matter of getting him to take it and keeping an eye on him for the week. It'll be interesting to see what happens next.
Although I'll be honest the potion effects seem different from what I remember, unless it's been too long and I'm not remembering correctly. When Greg took the potion he switch to his alternate self for the night before turning back to normal, right? Yet in the cases of the cat and lamp it appears that once they took the potion and change they didn't go back to normal without the help of a cure (well the lamp in that case since the cat had to sadly be put down). Is Greg different because he's a werewolf so the effects are in a sense temporary on him as oppose to other animals?Β

Glad you're enjoying. The events in the next couple of chapters will be a little chaotic (Peter's gonna get involved with Greg's alter ego- and so will Loralei and her female gang)
Ok- first of, most of the wolves in Duskville are anthropomorphic wolves - aka wolves that possess a human like conscience and sentience, but still keep some of thier animal traits (eating meat, growling when mad/ being fierce etc etc) . Actual real werewolves are much more vicious and savage and go through a Luna cycle and have a human form. There are little to no actual werewolves in Duskville. (You're more likely to find them outside in other much more dangerous areas of the Underworld).
And yes, Greg did switch to hid alternate self for the night.
For animals with no sentience (like the cat and lamb mentioned, it's a permenant change, while with those like the wolves (and maybe even ravens of Duskville, for they do show human like traits despite not being AS anthro), it's a sort of schizophrenic Jekyll-Hyde effect, meaning the consumer will go back and forth when least expected.
Both cases need an antidote and it won't be until the 7th day when the antidote finally completely kicks in and does the job.

I look forward to seeing those parts c:
Oh I'm sorry didn't mean to get that wrong. It truly has been a long time and I just put in werewolf even though I now know it's wrong when it concerns Greg and most of the other wolves in Duskville.
Ah I see then. So on normal animals it's a permanent change. But for others like Greg, certain ravens and such that are more anthropomorphic in nature, having human like traits and such, it's a back and forth effect like Jekyll and Hyde. I understand better now. Thank you c:Β

Thanks.
It's ok. I kinda need break from my cartoon stuff at times. I tend to use tropes and stuff that has been in older cartoon media (surreal looking creatures and anthro animals interacting like those 1930s cartoons etc) :3
You hit the nail on the head

You're welcome.
Nothing wrong with that. We all need and break now and then and it can be very good for us. Especially if it helps get the creative juices flowing.
Awesome c:
