Just some random ways I draw eyes.

Now if you all know, I'm more of a cartoonist when it comes to drawning and my art style tends to be more on the cartoony style, kinda along the lines of the old School Cartoon Network toons (especially those by Craig McCracken, Gennedy Tartakovsky and Faust's earlier work (pre-FiM) ) as well as a touch of Tim Burton's animated stuff.

Here are just some random eye shapes I tend to come up with when drawing. bear in mind, these are only example eye shapes and I tend to vary them from time to time- adding colour to the eyes, may have them lack pupils and whatnot.

1. Basic eye: used for most human type characters or personified animals. Even birds. Just a general eye. May vary in shape or colour (eg big or small, blue or dark brown (aka black ) )

2. Basic eye 2: see above.

3. Wolf eye: used mostly for wolves or wolf like creatures or sometimes wild canines (eg foxes)

4. Femme creature eye. Often used for the femme fatale type female. If pupil is slitty and (maybe) and with an iris of an unusual colour, it is that of a female creature. (we assume that the example here is (perhaps) some kind of female demon or vampiress) Eye may be all coloured at times.

4a. variation of a creature eye- complete with slitty pupil. May be all coloured.

5a. Almost hollow eyes: usually used on ghosts as a reference to the 'eye sheet holes' thing that most people seem to use when drawing ghosts at times. The pupils are large and give some kind of allusion to that. Pupils may be colored.

5b. Socket eyes: ocassionally used on ghosts, but more likely skeletal creatures/undead.

6. Eerie eye: all black with a coloured pupil (usually glowing) used for things that are very very creepy.

7. Fierce reptile eye: used for reptillian creatures such as badass dragons, maybe snakes etc.

8. Cute creature/baby animal eye: Eyes used for cutesy creatures or baby animals (eg. baby birds etc)

and so those are just some examples of the way I draw eyes. Some other examples may be shown some other time.
