New Rotterdam is one of the most beautiful ports in the world, and worth any travellers time. The same things that are true of any port are true here. Do not go with the nice man who offers you a free drink. You might wake up as a sailor on a ship to El Dorado, which is not nearly as nice as its name suggests. The ladies and lords of the night are best avoided. They will leave you with both less and more than you had before you met, because even though your gold and your clothes are gone, you will almost certainly have caught the clap or something worse. Don’t buy souvenirs close to the docks, you’ll pay twice the money for half the quality. Keep important documents on your body at all times.

There’s one other thing to keep in mind though, when visiting the city of New Rotterdam. The floating trees are certainly very beautiful, majestic even. They are part of what makes the city special. They also pose a very real threat to anyone on an airship. When an airship and a tree collide, it isn’t the tree that will plunge to its doom. Make sure that if you rent a boat, or buy a ticket to another city, you also get the services of a capable crew. Only a real NewRotterdammer is capable of predicting the movements of the trees, to try and do so yourself is stupid at best, and suicide in the worst case scenario.
