And also Misato gets a turn when she is looking were Asuka could have gone.Problem with this was to make the suit look tight... well more tight.
Misato is bigger and well more round then Rei is. Sure the plugsuit fits tight to the body but it is still customized for the one who really should wear it.
Well I tried ^^
As we see even before the "Rei refitting machine" starts to scan her mind her mind it paralyses her so she hold still. So that the "clips" can be fitted right and the real mind scan can start.
And no we woll not see Ritsuko in the machine and no also not Shinji or other people.

This reminds me of a picture I saw where Rei was turning Asuka and Shinji into Rei clones with her
touch.

Sure it could. Either the machine notices Shini (Think it's Rei) is missing his girl part or you install a Gender swap switch.
