Description Time for a new ID – again. Had to clear my mind and get my strength and motivation back (as you know, I'm in the middle of moving out of my place and I quite have enough of moving boxes already).

So, new ID, alot simpler than the previous one.

Oh man, now that's an ID. It's got such a simple but sleek design and the animation is so fluid it's scary.

Looks great, has a lot of character. ^_^

Yeah - my past devIDs were all pretty slow in comparison to this one
Thanks!

So please forgive me if I've asked this question before but...what tools do you use to make these? Gorgeous! Crisp...fun! Mocking technology with technology. Ironic!

"Mocking technology with technology" -- I like that!

Well, first I made the beat in AfterFX (a jumping dot basically that draws lots of "echoes") and render that as a gif-file. Then opened in ImageReady, edited the frames in Photoshop (cleaning first and then the Mosaic filter to get it that pixelated). Then some more layers for the round border, glass-effect, and shadow. Back to ImageReady, set frames, exported, done

I'm thinking I'll play a bit with AfterFX. I remember back in the day when I used to know an entire microprocessor...how to put colored dots on the screen direct to video memory. And now, I have 100's of tools, and not the slightest idea how to use most of them. Thanks for the explaination!

You're welcome!

AfterFX is indeed very powerful, thus recommended. I have almost no idea too how to use it thou; I got the dot moving thanks to a nice tutorial

hahaha cute i like the roundness of it, the gradient isn't that fine, i dunno but it's pixelating here ;d, and i would prefer more contents in it like what you did in your previous one

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rotane In reply to Cerhiby [2006-01-01 15:33:23 +0000 UTC]

Yap, the gradient (the LCD-background) is indeed a bit pixelated, I plan to smooth it next time thou.
As for the content, well, the previous had too much in it, I just wanted a change from that
