I am back from the dead and here to say, thank you for sticking around! I have a lot of work on my plate but I am steadily chipping away at everything, my biggest challenge of yet is not having internet and then suddenly I realize how much writing and things need to happen now that I am here. So! Please sit tight as I work through and revamp everything and get the balls rolling!

At the Sunrise Valley April Schooling Event in 2009, Figgaro is fresh 6 yo and Terik is a spry 18 yo...



"Ready, mate?" Terik murmured to his stallion, passing a hand soothingly over his neck and standing back to admire his stature.

   The stallion turned out impeccably, usually a dust and dirt magnet and happy about it, Figgaro gleamed proudly at his rider. The stallion was Terik's favorite ride for his reassured willingness for anything he was asked and would adapt easily, not only because he was Terik's horse. The stallion stretched his limbs eagerly as he was led out of the stall, the time to play had finally come and was his favorite part. The man leading him chuckled and walked from the barn the the blocks, mounting up with ease and letting Figgaro out to a long and low walk. The stallion's shoulders and hips sashayed with limber ease as they made their way to the warm up arena. Warmups with Figgaro were always short, sweet, and to the point.

  As a young 6 yo, he was eager and willing to go the miles but had a low duration tolerance to the performance itself, meaning any moments too long and Terik risked throwing his companion in the mindset to be a ticking time bomb. This meant, lots of hacking away from the arena with no pressure to reinfornce Figgaro's relaxation, trotting and cantering in the arena in short bursts with numerous tranisitons, and a pinch of lateral work to get everything engaged and rev the locomotion engine. The horse was a fierce ride, great temperment in and out of the saddle and enough workmanship and power to boot. The feeling of his gaits even as a green 6 yo still made Terik's heart sing excitment for the future.

       "I'd say it's about time, then." Terik said glancing around and feeling the time. Warm up flew by gracefully and the pair had even caught some admiration of spectators
nearby. Confidently, the pair made their way to the dressage hall, ready.
