At the Sunrise Valley April Schooling Event in 2017, Figgaro is a proven 14 yo stallion, Terik is a strapping 26 yo man, and Dareen is the smartass 17 yo in tow...

  It was blindingly hot, so much so Terik was very aware of everything about his body. How thick his skin felt, the moisture rapidly leaving his body, the dryness in his mouth and eyes, the stiffness in his limbs. He thankfully drank the water that was offered to him by his Dareen, feeling the life revive in him.

       "It's bloody hot here." He growled, wiping his brow and looking at Dareen, brow cocked, " How in the world did you convince me to be here?" He teased.

       "Because you know you need the exposure and I can help you." Dareen grinned proudly at his Uncle. Even at a whopping 17 this kid was completely unabashed and knew
exactly what he wanted from life. Terik chuckled at Dareen and playfully knocked his cap over his eyes.

       "We'll see about that!" He grinned and started up to check on their horses.

   It was like old times, before Dareen's mother had had passed, being with his brother now. Terik couldn't help but to feel a prickle when he thought of those memories. Dareen was a crier, his smiled, and life just seemed easier when Terik's sister had been around. Now here they were, 24 and 17, riding two horses they had had both had trained on their own and brought up themselves, a Strummaiger tradition. Terik's heart beamed with pride as he came up to Rotora and Figgaro, the mare was a bright 5 yo that never seemed to give up and matched Dareen perfectly. Figgaro was now a well polished 14 year old, having put in the time and work to surpass anything Terik had ever imagined for the horse. He even was training Classical dressage and able to change the type of trot mid gait, per Terik's request of course and flying colours and ease. Terik felt ready and proud, for the work that he had put in and knowing the slow and steady had built a stallion that was grateful for his rider as well.

   After a brief warm up the two headed for the grass dressage court, Figgaro's head held high and ready to make a statement. Today was going to be their demonstration of Figgaro's trot beat switching as well as a few other tricks the pair had been polishing. Boldly, the two made their way through their test with deadly accuracy and jaw dropping grace.
