Description
Wanted to experiment with some BRIGHT ASS PINK INK as an under/base-painting, and man it did some weird things. These are two beings out of five I’ve previously designed. They aren’t very nice to each other, or rather, the toothy one isn’t exactly a gentleman. This was drawn on coldpress illustration board, and though the board took the ink wash well, the ink I put down with nibs ended up rather fuzzy. Going to try this on some smooth bristol later to see what happens.

COULD'VE STROKED IT [but softly, 'cause the white pencil is really waxy and gross]

Oh my! What a treat! Y'know the ink is quite nice and your right that the board made the lines go fuzzy. Hmm... these remind me of the marker ones done on watercolor paper. Experiments ahoy!

I just did two little test sheets for some of my inks and watercolors on smooth and vellum bristol. 8U Might scan them and put them online somewhere, because the difference was pretty substantial for some of the more brightly colored inks!

Ooo! Do post em up somewhere please! Now, I'm intrigued to see what the differences are between the smooth and vellum type bristol. Should be neat.
