So. just how did Steve react when he realized just exactly who his (at that point in time) soon to be farther in law is?

Ollie, Steve, play nice or you'll both get the nickname zipper.
Seriously, zipper, I am not letting that go. Whenever Fox, Okami, Lizzie or Kumiho meet him they are gonna call him zipper, I cannot be allowed to forget this, thank you so much Roy.
As for Steve, he's actually someone I got to know fairly well over my comic reading. He was a down to earth kind of guy despite often having his head up in the clouds, and was the first bloke to make it to paradise island and live to tell the tale (or not tell the tale, he's not a rat I think). So all in all, good history.

Calling Talia an old spinster? Oh, Ollie's gonna get slapped.

So if my knowledge and memory of NYC is correct, Steve and by extension Diana isn't too far from Times Square

Three blocks away or so, I think

*does his mental map in his head* 3 or 4 blocks east and 4 North of Times Square proper.

I thought Times Square was between 45th and 47th Streets and 7th Avenue... and Madison was like 4th Avenue.
Granted, I don't live there so I will bow to your wisdom. I am just now intrigued.
I picked the address as I wanted it within walking distance of the United Nations area as that is where the new Hall of Justice is in Earth-27.

The literal location of Times Square begins around 42nd Street where 7th Avenue intersects with Broadway (which being an old Native America hunting trail doesn't always go parallel to the other avenues). The general referred to area stretches to Duffy Square, which is where the TKTS booth is. It's less of a square, more of a bow tie lol. The overall boundaries are 42nd, 47th, Broadway, and 7th Ave. What you're considering to be Times Square is the northern most area, which is the aforementioned Duffy Square.
The Avenues going east from 5th (which is the "dividing line" for streets being West # or East # in Manhattan) is weird lol. It goes 5th, Madison, Park, Lexington, and then 3rd lol. I have no idea what was the wisdom behind the whole naming convention on the East Side avenues.
It would be a bit of a walk, but it is definitely manageable. Roughly 15 minutes according to Google Maps so it still works

Well, I suppose being called 'Zipper' is better than 'Whizzer.'

So did Ulysses and Elizabeth Trevor fight in WWII, just like Steve did in the old comics and a lot of other media?

Roysovitch In reply to lightyearpig [2016-10-10 20:27:01 +0000 UTC]
Nope. That would put them in their fifties, at the youngest, when Steve was born. Ulysses Trevor fought in Vietnam.
Steve's grandfather fought in WWII though.

Nice name for his apartment building. So is Steve an official member of the JL?

Sorta.
He is the ARGUS agent assigned to oversee them and make sure they stay on the up and up.
Him being chosen for this role was a compromise between the Founding Members and Waller. Waller wanted a government representative in their meetings and the Founders thought Steve was a good alternative to having one of Waller's cronies sitting at their table.

I was going to say. Marvel already owns the rights to "Wonder Man."
But in all seriousness, Steve is definetly a good choice over that Lord jerk!

William Martin Marston Building. Nice touch.
9/11. Something many of us refuse to forget.
And finally? A critique. Do Oliver & Steve have the same facial structures? Steve has blue eyes. Oliver has green eyes and goatee. However I can see the similarities between the two.

Roysovitch In reply to spiderxand [2016-10-10 18:31:20 +0000 UTC]
Nope. Not to my knowledge. I don't see that much of a resemblance myself and I highly doubt phil-cho would do that.
Any perceived similarities is probably just due to them being drawn by the same guy.
If Steve should look like any other hero, it'd be Hal Jordan since we actually used Chris Pine as a reference for Hal... and both of them being voiced by Nathan Fillion.

There's only room for so many blonde jokesters in the Hall of Justice and since Ollie doesn't want to be on the bad side of a scarlet speedster or trench coating wearing dabbler in the dark arts, Trevor's gotta go.

yikes! Well, at least Ollie isn't a fool when he chooses his target (especially since John Constantine probably knows some really disturbing spells to use as payback)
(I can't imagine how he'd feel about Joseph/Ronin then XD)
