You replied that quick dang you fast. Anyway then can you please explain to me how Diana aged to her physical prime while Donna Troy remained a teenager for a long time? I hope you don't think I'm being pushy I'm just really interested in the lore of this universe.

Roysovitch In reply to July102 [2018-11-02 05:24:09 +0000 UTC]

Themyscira ages humans to a teenager. Diana was permitted to leave the island to retrieve Donna and then chose to stay behind and learn more of man's world which then aged her to her physical prime where her demigod blood stalled her aging.
Donna was kept on the island for a long time, not permitted to undergo the maturation pilgrimage, mostly because of Diana's own rebellion and history of staying away from the island.

I will admit, while I know it's not her most popular state among fans, I have a certain fondness for secret-agent Diana thanks in no small part to Gail Simone.

Is there a particular city Diana defends (like how Superman has Metropolis, or Batman has Gotham)? I think in the comics she defended a city called Gateway.

She defends Gateway but is also pretty global

So...I had a slight thought with her 'Mystical Connection With animals'...

PERHAPS she can use it to pasify hte 'half animal' criminals You know...Cheetah, King Shark, Man-Bat, etc.

Diana, she can mystical beasts so you better believe she can beat you copperhead. Also I love the whole governmental agent angle on her civilian identity, she's involved in the superhero world from the ground and the sky and that's brilliant because she's never out of sync with reality as it were. Good show Roy.

Why isn't Copperhead (male or female) used more? Seems like the ideal foe for anyone in the Bat-family, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, and Canary.

Roysovitch In reply to drawntogetha4ever [2017-05-21 03:17:54 +0000 UTC]

She's always a bit behind the times. She likes classics to big band to classic rock (Oldies)... or anything newer that carries the same feel.

Spider-Bat700 [2016-04-05 22:26:41 +0000 UTC]

Hm. I find it interesting that Demeter is the source of her strength and endurance. I would have associated those attributes more with Hercules, Atlas, and Ares.

I will say, that her getting different stuff from various gods feels just a little too similar to what's always been Captain Marvel/Shazam' shtick, but that's just me.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Roysovitch In reply to Spider-Bat700 [2016-04-05 23:36:54 +0000 UTC]

Heracles, Atlas, and Ares aren't respected by the Amazons, though. Also, Demeter is the one who gave her those abilities in the comics.

I feel Earth-27 is big enough for there to be more than one character who is bestowed with divine power... just like it is big enoigh for there to be dozens of bad guys whose superpower is insanity and bat/bird-themed heroes with dead parents.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Spider-Bat700 In reply to Roysovitch [2016-04-06 03:50:15 +0000 UTC]

1) Heracles and Ares may be enemies to the Amazons in DC, but you'd think Atlas would be alright. What did he ever do to end up on the bad list?

2) Maybe, but the difference is that the different whackjobs usually each have a different kind of mental illness or pathology, which makes it feel distinct. Similarly, the different orphan heroes still have various aspects and qualities to them that make them feel distinct despite the similar motifs and they're all being orphans. But Diana having different powers that are each from a different god feels very strongly similar to Captain Marvel to me. But, if this is how it is in the comics (Diana getting various powers from various gods namely), then I suppose I don't have much of a leg to stand on. Question, is Wonder Woman the goddess of truth in your world, like she is on New Earth? I was told once that Wonder Woman actually is a goddess, namely the goddess of truth or somesuch. It's why her lasso works the way it does.

All this talk of Mythology has got me thinking of Shazam and Black Adam.

You know, the sad thing about Adam in his era he would be considered a hero. But over a thousand years have passed since then, values and the definition of Hero have changed. So sadly he's a villain in almost every other nation, barring Khandaq where they still love him as a harsh but fair leader.

He's a really interesting character is what I'm saying.

Whoops, meant to comment to someone else. Also who do you think would win between Black Adam and Dr. Doom (Both are dictators of sovereign nations with incredible power given to them by magic who tend lay in the morally grey area, and can also be really arrogant)?

Adam has the advantage in physicality (Since he's repeatedly being shown going toe-to-toe with Superman) and Doom has the advantage in versatility (Due to his armor's tech and his master-level sorcery).
