In Earth-27 they do. I reason that it's a way to channel the magic into a specific power to give it extra oomph. Not always necessary, but it's a way to help cue you readers into what's happening on the page.

Hey Roy, I'm curious about something: what's the story on E27's Cupid and Komodo? Because I know Nyssa, Shado, and Malcolm are League, but what is the story on Komodo and Cupid since as I read apparently Cupid is Ex-ARGUS here and Komodo is LOA? I'm sorry, I only know of them from Arrow . Also what's this I've heard about comics Komodo being a major GA villain and something called "Weapon Clans"?Β

I cannot tell you much about the weapon clans other than it is some concept from the New 52/Rebirth.
But yes, Komodo is an assassin in the League of Assassins in E27 and the guy who trained Emiko.
Cupid is Ollie's first ARGUS handler who got a little too cozy with Ollie when Dinah was first starting up the Birds of Prey.
In the comics, Cupid is an ex-govt agent so I went eith that as it makes more sense for her capabilities other than being Ollie's fangirl

Creeper, you almost lived up to your name in the worst possible way. Also I find it oddly unsettling that we have Baby Doll and Dollhouse in a team up all things considered but they got caught so there is that, I just dread seeing the report Jack Ryder gives this when he gets back home.
