as they went though the darker area of the woods. they would be able to feel a deep breath on the back of their neck, and a low growl from behind them.... well at least they knew where the beast was now

Kyubey turned around, holding his staff close he searched his surrounds for any moving shadow, quietly he whispered a light incantation, and a flame appeared near the top of his staff "I know your there!" He shouted towards the direction he had heard the growl from.

as he turned the fire on his staff didn't illuminate all that much. except for one thing. make that two, two big white eyes staring at him from the darkness. the rest of it's body remaining unseen yet. but it was there. another deep growl escaped the beast as it's position was revealed

Kyubey brandished his staff, taking two steps backwards, a shudder ran down his back as he prepared, this beasts eyes where very unsettling and made him uneasy, making him want to bolt, but not daring too for fear of upsetting his master, the one who sent him after the beast.

it continues to stare at him and snarled. when he moved back it took two steps forwards, seeming to be enticed by his fear. it bore it's teeth which shone like daggers in the darkness while it began to approach

Kyubey brandished his staff, seeming to work up his confidence. He was preparing, remembering the shield spell that was one of the first spells he ever learned. He swallowed then grinned "Come at me!" He shouted, even though he was pretty sure it couldn't understand him.

the beast got a glint in it's eye at the pure challenge. it lowered it's body in a crouchingΒ position. it then sprung forward with great speed, claws and teeth bared while letting out a howl that could shake bones as it pounced at kyubey

Kyubey was a little surprised at the beasts furry, but was quick enough to put up a shield to try and block the monsters pure force. He shuddered at the howl, but remained chanting hoping to keep the force field up.

the beast crashed into the shield. the force could push him backwards if he wasn't holding his ground but it didn't get through gladly enough. the beast groaned lightly at the impact and shook it's massive head. luckily it's horns saved it some major damage

Kyubey winced as the magic drained some of his energy, He watched it take the damage, feeling bad, it was a living creature after all. He shook his head, he had to stop thinking like that, it would get him killed.

the beast paws at it's face in a little pain before shaking it's head and looking to kyubey. it snarled lightly and charged after him. it's form could now be seen clearly. it was a chocolate brown creature with a long mane, horns, a human like face, and white markings. it smacked into the field again

Kyubey felt a stinging in the back of his head, he couldn't hold the force field for much longer. "Stop! Your gonna hurt yourself." He said when he realized that it looked humanish. He wasn't sure why he said that, he just hated hurting or killing anything.Β

the beast shook it's head again, in pain from cracking into the force field. at hearing Kyubey it looked to him with a look of understanding. but seemed to had a hard resolve, as if it knew why he was here and wasn't going to give up so easily

Kyubey released the force field and held up his hands "Don't hurt yourself worse please." Kyubey whispered quietly looking at the beast.

the beast snorted and held it's ground. though shook it's head again, still a bit dizzy from it's previous attacks. light blood trickling from the side of it's head while it glared at Kyubey, seeing that his shield was down. it didn't attack him though

"Here.." Kyubey approached him "Let me see that wound.." Kyubey frowned, moving close to him.

the beast flinched when kyubey came closer. it started to move backwards as he approched, it was inevitably corner and looked at kyubey strangely

Kyubey remembered what he did with a skittish horse, and he started humming quietly, barely audible. He approached slowly, cautiously. "It's okay..." He whispered quietly. "Don't be skittish I just wanna inspect your wounds../ I-I didn't mean to hurt you.."

the beast watched him curiously, it's ears flicking forward at hearing his humming. it stared at him and remained cornered as he slowly approached

When Kyubey got close enough to touch he gently petted stroked the creatures neck, silently praying it didn't harm him.Β

the beast shuddered under his touch, seeming to be more fearful of him then he was of it. the beast kept it's bright white eyes locked onto him as he was finally close enough to touch it. it warbled in a bit of fear

"Shh.." Kyubey said he set his staff down and gently stroaked the beasts fur with his free hand. With his other hand he inspepected the side of the creatures head, where the wound is.Β
