the creature kept warbling lightly but stayed still. it's legs being a little wobbling and shuffling underneath it while Kyubey inspected it. there was a gash on the side of the creature's head, having been opened up from it bashing into the shield like a freight train

Kyubey shook his head "It's not too bad... I'm sorry for hurting you.." He muttered, then he thought for a moment, before choosing a spell he muttered the spell, and the wound glowed before closing. "There you go, is that better?" He smiled at the creature.

the creature flinched a bit as he worked his magic on it, fixing the wound. the beast calmed down as it was fixed and gave Kyubey a curious and confused look. it let out another sound that didn't sound nearly as panicked as earlier, seeming to have calmed down

Kyubey backed up slightly then smiled "all better?" He smiled at the creature. Β "I'm sorry I did that, I didn't want you hurt.." He gently pet the creature, studying it's fur.

the beasts fur was extremely soft for something that seemed so wild. it let out a lighter and calmer warble like sound in response to what he was sating to it. it still held a slightly crouched and submissive stance under him

Kyubey sat down cross legged and studied the creature, he saw how beautiful it was. He continued petting it a small smile on his face.Β

the creature layed down infront of him, showing off its white markings on itself. they some what mimicked wings by how the swooping whites and greys ran over it's back. it also bore white freckles on it's back, face, and tail. it layed still as he pet it, warbling lightly still

Kyubey studied the markings "Why aren't you a pretty one." he continued petting a small grin played at his mouth.

the beast continued to lay still for him as he pet it. it's lightly fearful warbling turning into light purrs.

Kyubey found himself yawning he had spent a lot of his energy on the spells, and now felt exhausted.Β

the beast looked at kyubey curiously upon hearing the yawn. and it's previously flicked back ears perked to their normal forward position in curiosity

Kyubey stretched "I'm so tired..." He looked at his surroundings "I wasted my energy on those shields." He looked at the creature with a tilted head "Can you speak? Or even understand me, if you can't I'm basically talking to no one and might as well be in an institution for the insane." He laughed slightly.

the beast listened to him curiously. though at asking if it could understand him it nodded in a yes. at least it could understand him, though it didn't seem it had the ability t speak

Kyubey was surprised when it made a nodding motion, "So you can understand me.." Kyubey smiled at the creature "Do you have a name? Well I guess you wouldn't because you can't talk so why would you have a name, that's stupid..." Kyubey trailed off a faint blush appeared on his cheek "I-I'm sorry..." after a moment "D-do you have a name?" He asked.

the beast listens to him talk to himself for a moment. though when he re-asked his question the beast nodded before sticking it's claw out and cratching something into the ground. when it withdrew it's talon the word "Xena" was left in the ground

Kyubey looked at the word, "Xena, that's an amazing name." Kyubey looked at the creature "My names Kyubey." He smiled "I'm glad Β that your okay, I thought I would end up killing you." He stoked the smooth fur gently.Β

the beast gets something similar to a smile on it's face as he continued to pet and speak with it. it purred gently, also glad that it was still alive.

Kyubey found himself resting his head on its fur, it's softness tickling Kyubey's cheek. He smiled as he smelt the creatures smell and felt Xena's purring against his cheek.

Xena actually smelt quite earthy, and a little like wild mint plants. Xena watched him curiously as he did this, though ended up wrapping her tail around his back in a relaxed manner

Kyubey found the smell warming and inspirational. He yawned as he felt the tail wrap around his back, and he found himself falling asleep, struggling to keep his eyes open.

the beast let him rest against it. tail staying where it was over his back like a blanket. the beast watching him curiously with white eyes as he started to drift

Soon he was fast asleep, hopefully this would regain the energy he lost when working with his magic. His shoulders rose and fell with his breathes, as the warmth of the creature kept him asleep.

the beast watched as he slept curiously. it huddled close to him and let him sleep, keeping its tail wrapped over him while it layed it's head down on it's paws

Kyubey stirred slightly, but continued sleeping on. He shifted so he was curled closer to Xena.Β

Xena smiled lightly at feeling this, and soon fell asleep after he did. not planning to cause any harm to him, and knowing he probably wasn't planning to harm her either

Kyubey slept for about twenty minutes before he stirred and woke up stretching. He studied the sleeping Xena and smiled.Β

she remained utterly still as he woke. her tail still laying over him when he looked her over. it now appeared that the creature was very feminine

Kyubey was a little surprised, he hadn't realized she was female, and he felt a blush rise up his cheeks, he just slept on a girl yes it was a different creature but it still was a girl. He blushed harder.

funny how the beast hadn't had a problem with this. it just slept peacefully while he had his realization

Kyubey sighed and then laid back down on her back still blushing. He folded his arms behind his neck and looked up at the tops of the trees.

the beast snuggled up to kyubey while it slept. it's tail curling around him more. and her body turning into a crescent shape

Kyubey smiled and shifted comfortably. He studied the trees above him, with a smile.

the trees above him were all pine trees, and they still casted their shadows of the two, hiding them from most sight

Kyubey thought he saw someone in the trees. He glared trying to see if he spots whatever he had just saw before it dissipated into the shadows

Xena's ears twitch and begin to move around. she thought she heard something. her eyes slowly open while her ears keep moving around

"I-I think someones here..." Kyubey whispered, sitting up and looking around. He bit his lip.

Xena lifts her head up and looks to kyubey curiously. she then looks around for a sign of any one else

Kyubey stood up, looking around.
Suddenly a male hunter walked out from behind the brush, his bow pinned on the creature. Β Then a female hunter followed, her bow pointed on Kyubey.Β
Kyubey swallowed, he had left his staff in the field, a few feet away, he could cast spells, but that was his weapon. He muttered a small curse.

Xena's eyes widened and she stood, back arching and fur standing on end as she snarled at them

"Don't move a muscle!" The hunter said, snarling.
Kyubey looked at Xena, then at the Hunters.

Xena snarled further and bared her teeth, arching even more as it took a stand in front of Kyubey. she looked like she was about to pounce on one of them

The male hunter released the arrow.
Kyubey quickly muttered a shielding spell that blocked from the arrows, the girls arrow was still notched.

Xena jumped having thought she was going to get shot. she nods to Kyubey in a sort of thank you before looking back to the other hunters and snarling

Kyubey nodded back, changing his view to the girl, he thought about all the spells he could do, he decided too cast an illusion spell, suddenly snakes where crawling all over the girl. She froze and lowered her bow firing at the snakes, which dissolved at the touch.

Xena watched as this happened and felt iminently less worried. it seemed Kyubey had things under control. though she would still jump one of them if they got too close

Kyubey kept the shield up but wasn't expecting the blow from someone behind them, in the bushes, the shield shattered and the male fired an arrow towards Kyubey.

Xena got a worried look and jumped in the road of the arrow, taking it to the back and snarling angrily before pouncing onto the man that had attacked them and bit into his arm ferociously

Kyubey was surprised that Xena took the arrow, but quickly recovered from the shock a started casting a spell on the girl, a small bubble covered her, keeping her from moving, she struggled, but Kyubey didn't care he kept the bubble around her.

Xena kept the man pinned as kyubey handled the girl. she dig into his arm, not about to let him go or let him stand up either

Kyubey focused his energy on the girl, while slowly moving to get his staff as soon as he had it in his hand he released the bubble spell and pinned her too a tree with the staff.
