InformationΒThe finished YHH for anatiidae and her beautiful Xenon ! If you have a darker screen, it's gonna be hard to see the details of this unfortunately, but I liked the contrast of dark making that electric cyan pop. Since it would be way too hard to see (and not very appealing) on the light dA background, I kept a dark backdrop for this and spiced it up just a little with some smoke and sparkles. If you have time, you should definitely read the backstory to Xenon, it's unique and fascinating and made working on art for him all the more intriguing. I hope to do a larger piece of him someday!

He was really, really fun to do! I had a freakin' blast with the lighting especially, making the bright outline and figuring out all the spots he'd be lit up was really interesting and just engaged me like crazy. I really hope to work with him again! He'd be glorious in a manip, especially. And you're very welcome

I hope to! I did fiddle with a headshot pixel and it looked like a fried turd, so I gave up on that one.. will have to practice some more and see if I can produce anything else decent-looking or if this was just a fluke hahahaha
Any tips about what I should avoid next time or anything like that? What's "wrong" with the pixel in your experienced eye?

Ooh! Headshots I cannot do LOL xD They look like scribbles. I can only do smol fullbodies haha.
Hmm. If you want a true, honest to god sprite, glowy has to be done with the pencil tool as well. If you're on Skype, I can show you some sprites that utilize things like fire without any anti-aliased glow or fire, used for things like Dragcave and the like.

The head itself wasn't all that bad but the mane was hideous. I definitely struggle most with hair so far. I keep trying to paint it like digital painting/manips except with a pencil, but it looks horrible from zoomed out hahaha
Hmm I'm not sure how much I do or don't care about "honest to God" sprite yet, I keep going from "fuck what people think you have to do" to "I want to do this right and by the book if I'm gonna do it at all" >.< I guess in the meantime, learning more about it can only help!
