Description Watercolors are something I’m still trying to figure out, but I don’t think I did too horribly with this.

I like the hair bun on her as well as her beautiful face. This is a great painting.

I had a dream last night with a background that was very similar to this.

Isn't it interesting how the water color skin brings out the nose and eye shading? I think you did pretty well. Did you start with the sketch or the paints?

I had a dream last night that the ghost of Duke Ellington gave me a pair of shoes to wear to a party.

It is, I liked that effect. Thank you, I started with a sketch on watercolor paper.

Duke Ellinton? Really? How'd he look?

You should paint with watercolors first, with not particular pattern, and then sketch it into strange creatures. All of your watchers would go," wha.. whoOo-ooa!" And then they would say it. (My little brother, who is actually just two years younger than you, has a language dissorder. He hears words funny so it takes longer for him to pick up meanings, this makes synonyms and slang poison to his speech. Any way the point is he went through a period of time wherin he would begin to quote someone with the phrase, "He was all like said,""" End of side note.)

He looked young, like he was being played by an actor. I actually didn't realise that who and what he was until later in the dream, when I came upon the ghost of a boy I knew of in middle school who almost burned to death, except in the dream he actually did.

Hmmm, I just might try that. (That's an interesting dissorder. What is it called? Is it particuarly hard to deal with?)

You have cool dreams.

(It's called receptive aphasia. Most aphasia is due to head trauma and is expressive, but Cameron's is different. It is and is not hard to deal with. He is emotionally and philosophically younger than his age, and in a house of fast talkers and big word users communication can be frustrating. It is similar to mental retardation, but it doesn't put a limit on what he can learn it just makes the curve shallower.)

(*goes to read more on wikipedia* Communication is a problem in my house as well, but that’s because none of us can remember if we told each other something, or what it was, or if we were told of it elsewhere.)

(Ha ha ha. Couch Chris does that all the time. Actually, every once in a while you'll catch me using a Cameronism. Since he was very small he's had catch-phrases. Did you see "A movie Time?" the movie where Godzilla criticizes the army man's film? It's title and credits were done in Cameron style.)

You talk a lot about Couch Chris. Oh, yes I watched that. But I don't remember the credits...)

ErnestAbacus In reply to Ruby631 [2008-01-07 19:44:44 +0000 UTC]

Well... He does live on the couch that is right behind me as I type. Also Basia conditioned me not to talk too much about Bridget. hmm... that implies that I only know two interesting people, which is untrue I tell you! Actually I think Couch Chris just suits more of the conversations I have online and it is fun to type "Couch Chris." (The credits said things like, "Director by..." and "Charley by...")

Antonio Banderes had to live on a couch for sometime, and the couch had a large lump on the middle, so he had to twist in a certain way around it to be able to sleep, and now, even though he’s off the couch, he can’t sleep any other way. Random bit of info for ya. (Ah, I understand.)

Who’s Bridget? A lady love?

ErnestAbacus In reply to Ruby631 [2008-01-08 03:09:34 +0000 UTC]

That is a very cool story. I Hope that Couch Chris developes something similar. heh. I enjoy random bits of info.

She hasn't been a lady love for ... five years. She was referenced in that journal story for Basia's contest. I still hang out with her fairly often. Basia, apparently doesn't really believe in male-female friendships in person. So she assumes that either I am still in love with Bridget, or she is still in love with me. Hence many hours of amusement.

Ruby631 In reply to ErnestAbacus [2008-01-08 03:37:29 +0000 UTC]

I don't think he does. It apparently bothers Antonio quite a bit.

Ah, I see. Perhaps Basia has had trouble with that in the past and now believes it is difficult for anyone?

barbarasobczynska In reply to Ruby631 [2008-01-08 20:50:22 +0000 UTC]

well, is there anyone who doesn't have a trouble with that?
i just personally don't see too much sense in having friendship with someone with whom a love thing didn't work, it's only bitter, it's like watching something powerful devaluate into something skin-deep, if there was any love and passion and one feels it is lost for ever for some reasons, then i think everyone would definitely prefer to "burn the bridges" behind one, and if one doesn't then it either means one still thinks it's not lost and is still secretely plotting to gain it back (very rare case) and just pretending friendship or one thinks the love was never there
and because I'm guessing this Bridget might be similar to me at this point, and because Ken seems too loveable so i simply can't assume the second option to be true, i mean that she never loved him, so I'm guessing she just still hopes to gain his love back, otherwise i could not see any reason for staying in friendship with him maybe it's just me, maybe she's just different, maybe there is some third option for some people

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ruby631 In reply to barbarasobczynska [2008-01-08 21:46:19 +0000 UTC]

The third option is that they both love each other, and enjoy each other's company, but realize that their love is not passionate enough to last the ages, and are actually more content being friends. Does that make sense?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

barbarasobczynska In reply to Ruby631 [2008-01-08 22:11:47 +0000 UTC]

hhhhmmmmm well maybe it does a little bit but if they "are actually more content being friends" it doesn't sound like "love" to me at all, to me what you described is just still the second option, the question of whether or not they would last for ages or not has nothing to do with it, some people last together even though they don't love each others, i think while a love lasts it is not important whether or not it is really going to last, 'cause just while it's lasting it always seems it's forever,
i cannot imagine anyone being more content being friends than lovers, unless they already love someone else, but then it's even more certainly the second option

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ruby631 In reply to barbarasobczynska [2008-01-08 23:47:02 +0000 UTC]

Well, by that I mean that their friendship-love was mistaken for in-love, then was put in the correct category.

I'm not in love with anyone, but I certainly know many people that I briefly thought I could fall for, but later thought otherwise. Sometimes friendship-love can be so intense that you can think you're in-love. Happens all the time.

yep Basia conditioned you not to talk about Bridget too much but it was a while back, now (when the Basia's deadly-dangerous eye is set on someone else) you can have a blast and at last you're allowed to talk about MissYouKnowWho as much as you want

Well, sadly it has become rather pavlovian now. I don't even know if I can answer Johanna's question about her.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ErnestAbacus In reply to barbarasobczynska [2008-01-08 19:39:29 +0000 UTC]

Clue: Pavlov did experiments on a dog.

barbarasobczynska In reply to ErnestAbacus [2008-01-08 20:16:48 +0000 UTC]

the clue doesn't help me at all what am i dumb or something?

my first guess - possibly Bridget got herself a dog and becuase of the allergy on dogs' fur you can't come any closer to her anymore, so your relationship to her became "pavlovian" because nowadays you mainly try to experiment on her dog in order to kill it, so you could come closer to her again? is that the case?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ErnestAbacus In reply to barbarasobczynska [2008-01-08 20:40:31 +0000 UTC]

Did you just quote "Born Yesterday?"

No, but that is brilliant.

Pavlov rang a bell whenever he fed his dog. After he started feeding his dog without the bell, the bell still made the dog's mouth water. Once trained, some vestiges of the training remain, even if they are no longer valuable.

oh, but now i do understand at least what you meant about "pavlovian" in relation to avoiding mentioning Bridget name even though it doesn't implicate my anger anymore

barbarasobczynska In reply to ErnestAbacus [2008-01-08 21:04:10 +0000 UTC]

i've never seen "Born Yesterday" so again i'm not sure what your talking about nevermind, i'm just rather slow today it seems
oh, yeah, i remember i read something about it (something, somewhere, but it went out of my memory for some reason, besides there are so many Pawlows in Russian literature, the scientist just didn't stick to my memory .... sorry, just my common reaction to the "stick" word, i react similarly to the "hell" word, and to the "on" and "a")

oh, yes, i think this is a pretty good watercolour, i especially like how you did the face and the blues of the background, this is how i imagine good watercolour to be, delicate and having the natural background shining through
of course i'm myself not a master of watercolours at all,
at dA I personally think that man is simply a Master of Watercolours

(among younger still learning yet already awesome artists i think Patrick is pretty brilliant at watercolours too)
