We are all born this way... Naked.Older!Taiki fanart that I drew 2 months ago, but didn't put up here until now.
This is for canis_m and pengiesama. 8D There are so few 12 Kingdom fans out there that are doing things like fanfic, or fandom stuff in general, but their love for the series is infectious.
So... Taiki with long flowing hair.
He's kinda of shy.SPOILERS ON JUUNI KOKKI/THE TWELVE KINGOMS:
After the anime (in the novels)...
Taiki eventually is rescued back to the 12K, but not until after his Nyokai and the Toutetsu-dog-demon-thing go insane and kill his Earth family. They went insane because his family was forcing Taiki to eat meat, which was poisoning him and making him sick... since he's a Kirin and blood makes him ill, eating other animals really does bad things.
(Really, I mean how wrong is it to make a Unicorn-like-thing eat meat? @_@ This is not Candy Mountain, Charlie!)He eventually remembers his past in the 12 Kingdoms when he goes back, though! And he and Risai meet up again and head off to the Tai kingdom to look for their King.

Wonderful drawing! Taiki is my favorite character right next to Enki. But his story makes me so depressed. He finally fits into his happy lifestyle in Tai only to get his horn cut off and forced back to the world he didn't belong in. Poor guy.

Emm... I have a question concerning the plot.
When Taiki was brought back to the Twelve Kingdoms, he was in really bad condition. If I understood right, he lost his powers as a Kirin and his horn was cut off.
So I was wondering - will Taiki ever get his powers / horn back? Otherwise he is not a Kirin anymore, and that would be so sad! I really liked this cute black Kirin hehe!
Sorry to bother you, but since the anime / novels translation hasn't reached that point yet, the only way to find out what happed is to ask some lucky person who did read it! ^^

The Twelve Kingdoms seems interesting (although the unicorn thing makes me think of the last unicorn XD ) Is it a good series?

It's a wonderful series. The main girl was annoying at first, but then she grew up into one of the best female characters I've seen in anime in a long time. (AKA, she kicks ass and is very noble.)
There are lots of Kirins/Asian Unicorns in this show. So beautiful.

Well, the series is a few years old, so it might be hard to find it at places. I recommend checking out used CD/DVD places. I found the whole series that way for like 25 dollars.
Maybe check Torrents? Megaupload?
