Description
A portrait of the longing and loneliness of Sumeragi Subaru from the series X and Tokyo Babylon.But is that shadowy figure lurking near just a figment of his imagination,
or is it -- ?
Notes:
The sakura took a toll on my wrist, erp. I tried making my own petals-brush on photoshop, but it turned out a little weird and more fakey than I had hoped, so I then drew a bunch in the hopes they balance out in the end (two wrongs...?). Also, my least favorite part of the pic were his feet.
And, carving things into trees is bad...6 hours, Photoshop CS. Wacom Tablet.
I wish I worked this hard on my homework.

Wow. Absolutely breathtaking! The details vs vagueness of the petals gives the picture a lot of depth. The position of his left is wonderful, as are the tails of his coat. Beautiful work!

The image of Subaru lying among the fallen cherry blossom petal is such a beautiful idea. It looks as though heβs trying to absorb a bit of the past too hard to forget and the man he loved through the small pink flowers. The concept is lovely and I just lover the contracts of the bright cheery flowers and the very dark Sumeragi.

This makes me think of Arima from "Kare Kano"/"His and Her Circumstances" in the episode where he explains why he loves Yukino. Because the episode basically began with Arima under the cherry blossom trees and he had fallen sleep.

Holy crap... this is incredible. I love the expression and the overall atmosphere of the piece; you can truly feel his loneliness. I'm also a huge sucker for cherry blossoms, and the way you have him laying amidst a pile of them is just... wow. XDDDDD

*grins* Hey man! At least you did this a lot better than other fanarts I've seen for Subaru! The feet aren't too bad, but maybe you can just cut them out of the pic? XD

lovely work! Backgrounds can be a pain in the butt, but I like how you utilized the foreground too. My one piece of advice would be to make the character look a little more incorporated into the ground. He looks a little bit separate because of his heavy outline on top of the softer flower petals. Maybe make a few petals piled around him?

The colouring really brings out the mood in this. His outfit has been coloured well (black can really be a pain), and I especially like all the sakura, from the ones on the trees to the floor he lays on.
