I always wanted to do something like this and I finally did it! I feel so happy right now omgI know it's not perfect so I would appreciate any critiques!

Wow, that is about all I can say! That is until I pull out my trusty magnifying glass and get this four part review on the road.
Vision: Like all original characters we get a glimpse in to the mind of the artist. Even with that said we loose a little vision to the simple background that over loads your eyes with red, as well as the fact it's only a head shot. So only 3.5 stars here.
Originality: Seeing as it is an original character it can go without saying that there is originality here, but with that said it's a done it in a school picture style and looses interest. Also I like red like the next person but too much is too much. You've heard of Scarlet Overkill well here we have Red Overkill. With that all being said it still wins 4.5 stars.
Technique: Like all digital works this one too scored negative points coming out of the gate, but it quickly gain some to cover for the lose. I mean you have the brushed look to the background, the individual detail of the hair and fur, not to mention the details of the eyes. Great job on the detail just change the background please. Still it's worth 4 stars.
Impact: Again the overkill of red and the lack of a good background on top of the rest of the pony missing really took away from the impact of the picture but not all of it. Because as you look into those eyes you see some of the soul of the artist. Yet not enough of it to get them more the 2.5 stars.
Overall the picture is great it has a lot of detail and looks like it took a lot of work but like all things made by man it still needs a little work I can't wait to see what else this artist has to offer the art community.

"It's not perfect" is not a phrase I'd tell myself, regardless of whether this is the first shot or the millionth. Trust me on that one. ^^
Anywho, I really like what you did here. What caught my eye immediately was how you shaded the pony. It's very soft and subtle. Though I do admit Ruby looks like she's made of clay (a very well molded clay figure, haha). It's definitely cute.
The hair is impressive! I also shade hair the same way, but I'm pretty much jealous you can pull it off with much more clarity (and less random) than how I do it. Applause!
I guess the only thing I feel needs some more touch up are the eyes. Yes, I know it's a cartoon pony and stuff, so any way you do them isn't "wrong". But maybe those could've been blended a bit further. Secondly, the right eye appears to glow against the shaded portion of her face. That can also be shaded too.
You did a good job, though. You need to teach me how you got the hair to look so clear and defined like that someday. x3

Brilliant work on the hair and very detailed in the hair, more texture on the fur would be good and visible nostrils would be good, overall still cute tho!
